I grew up in the area and always came here to eat , but as a teenager I moved away to Dallas and when I would have the chance to... come back and eat here I would and over the years the food was real good until today that I?m in town with my wife and kids andour nephew , so we came in around 6 pm and the mash potatoes tasted sour and the rice did as well and even the rolls tasted realbad , I had to stop my family from tasting the food to avoid food poisoning!! The Asian lady that was there didn?t want toreturn our money becuz she said that we tasted the food which we had to try it to know that it was bad and could?ve ended up inthe hospital?horrible place and horrible management!!! Ordered a 24 piece tenders meal. Fries cold and limp, no salt. Shorted me a side item of ocra. Chicken tenders were like... oversized nuggets. Costed me 45 dollars, I've bought Hartz for years. This was first time at this location. Tried to call todiscuss my concerns, no answer, just kept getting hung up on. Do not eat at this Hartz, Porter or Cleveland branch are 100%better. Read more

Great service ! I only wish that the chicken was cooked in different grease than the fish. All else is great

I should go lower. For once I'm a vegetarian and my family eat only chicken tenders. We decide to get the buffet. I ask for... fresh chicken tenders and fish because the buffet was empty on those items -1. While waiting on the items to cook. I tried outthe vegetables. They tasted just like the can they came from no seasoning of any kind -2.Once my fish arrive it was cooked toosoft or should I say under cooked -3. The tenders were fine but I completely lost it when the cashier was getting gravy fromthe steam table for a drive thru order. Gravy ran down the side of the container and he ran his finger up the side thenproceeded to put his finger with the gravy in his mouth -5. Then placed the top on the container and put it in the bag -6 .OhI almost forgot the cashier was eating all while my food was cooking and he didn't eat from a plate but from the warming area-10. I have lost all my trust in fast food restaurants. That was really disgusting. Humble beware of the Hartz in downtown Humble.#NEVEREATATHARTZCHICKENINHUMBLETX Read more

This is a hidden gem. I eat here a lot. Unexpectedly, not just a fried-chicken place. They have a surprising all-you-can-eat... buffet that is really tasty and not expensive. It's the typical, down-home Texas lunch I grew up on, and there's something foreveryone. To name a few, there's grilled chicken, fried chicken, fried catfish, meatballs, fried gizzards, potato salad, beans, collard greens, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, okra, fruit, and outstanding fresh-baked homemade dinner rolls. They havefresh-cooked banana pudding and other dessert specialties on the menu, too. My favorites always include the grilled chicken, and they have fried gizzards (no, they're not oysters), too; I love the collard greens with Louisiana hot sauce; the kidneybeans; the mustardy potato salad with jalapenos; and some of their delicious fresh-baked dinner rolls, almost as good as mysister's. I usually have some home-made banana pudding for dessert. True, the building is old, and it doesn't look like muchfrom the outside (they're busy fixing it up), but it's clean and well-kept. The bathrooms sparkle. The staff are friendly andbilingual, and they are prompt and courteous. There is a drive-through, too, if you're in a hurry. This is nothing but good ol'Southern home-style cooking, and if you're looking to fill up on some down-to-earth, plain but delicious food for very littlemoney, this is the place. Read more
