We were expectedly delighted by our visit to Hoss's this evening. This is the first time we've ever had to wait to be seated at... this restaurant (they were very short-staffed this evening), but everyone was very personable and pleasant. This Hoss's is located in Hummelstown, and it appears to be under new management. The entrée's were fresh and appetizing. Two... different salads and one fish-taco. The fish, they were well seasoned, crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside. There wasone small hiccup, the sauce on the taco was too sweet for an adult taste. I used a lemon slice to neutralize the over sweetnessof the sauce. Hummelstown is one of the most family oriented areas in Dauphin County. Read more
My wife said she was in the mood for a steak and baked potato so I looked around the area here at Hershey Pennsylvania and found... a chain that I had never visited before. Hoss's steak and sea house is a would recommend stop if you are passing through thearea and want some good food. The steak and baked potato were good and pretty much as I expected but the soup and salad bar isthe stand out here. Normally the food you get on these bars are somewhere between paste and flavorless gruel. Nearly every itemI tried was very tasty. I truly recommend the beefaroni and French onion soup and also the apple pie and make it à la mode! And don't get me wrong, the steak was delicious and juicy but that's just what I have come to expect from any steakhouse now. Ifyou are in the mood for a steak definitely get it also. Safe journeys! Good food, my brisket was a bit overdone, steaks have always been very good. Salad bar only had garlic bread (that was not... refilled during our visit) no rolls like they used to.
