I'm a BBQ aficionado and my review comes with a heavy heart. I really want to give a better review for the food but can't. To... start the place is awesome, the service was great. The customer service review deserve 5 ?????. Now the food wasn't great atall. I believe it's because of the time I went over. I was there at 7:30 pm and i believe this was my error. See the picturesand you'll notice that the ribs have a bark, but that's because it's been there for a while. The chicken was good, but the skinwas as rough as snake skin. The corn bread was moist in the middle only and the Mac was great. In the picture you won't seebrisket, but my friend bought 1/2 lb and the whole half was super dry, literally like eating cardboard, the bbq sauces saved ita little. They do have an awesome selection of bbq sauces. It is some what expensive because they force you to buy by the 1/2lb. So if you want to try a little of everything you'll soon have 5 lbs of bbq on your plate. Read more
Brisket is juicy and tender, burnt ends are saucy and delicious (maybe the best part of the meal), broccoli was grilled to... perfection, ribs really tasty but better adding bbq sauce. Onion rings crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Wife liked thewatermelon arugula salad. Fries are more like potato wedges but well seasoned and good complement to bbq. Decent quantity ofsauce selection but by far my top choice was the spicy sticky sauce. Texas-style, I think, but I liked it better than what I hadin TX. Wife n son were also pleased. Like the arrangement to meat n sides at counter and then drinks at the table with paymentafter the meal. Service not particularly personal but very prompt esp. on a Fri night. Read more
Found this place rather by accident, saw a sign that said BBQ and was in the mood for BBQ. Two entrances, one on the street and... one one the side of the outdoor benches. The front entrance is a bar look and feel but the side entrance leads you to the backwhere you orde and then find a table. Nothing fancy, very rustic, but the atmosphere was comfortable. Ordered the Ribs platterwhich comes with French fries. When seated, a server will deal with your beverage selection. The food was delicious and the ribswere falling off the bone. Old Fields in Huntington is in my opinion the best barbecue you can find on Long Island. End your search now, I?ve gone through... them all. It reflects a taste that can only be found out of state. Quick, consistent and have never been disappointed! Read more
Always like to try BBQ places out in NY/LI area because how I miss the south. Brisket was well cooked, Ribs lacked some flavor... but the many BBQ sauces helped. Decor was really nice, the staff friendly and welcoming. Corn bread was amazing and the peachcobbler was okay, drinks were fairly priced and sides were good as well. Will come again as it?s a nice place and parking wasn?teasy but you just have to look around because the lot is always packed. Read more
Let's start with this. This is an excellent restaurant with quality food, drinks, ambiance and service, however the BBQ meats... tasted just average. In all fairness, I can't speak to all the BBQ meat as I only tried the Brisket and Ribs. Both were barelywarm and lacked taste. Maybe the other meats (Sausage, Chicken, Pulled Pork) may be much better. Despite that, we will beback. The Fried chicken (Boneless) is some of the best I've ever tried. Drinks were good and decently priced. The Beet saladwas a small portion but filling and only $8. Very delicious even for a non salad lover like me. Chicken sandwich was slightlyspicy but good. Corn bread was also some of the best and they serve a huge piece. The sauce selection was good. I wouldrecommend adding a spicy option. For dessert, we got a Peach Cobbler (only dessert item on the menu) to share and it alsodidn't come out warm. Still very good as my kids devoured it and barely left me any. It's Texas style ordering so be preparedto order at the counter and the food gets brought to the table. Parking lot is right next to the restaurant but still tough toget parking. Highly recommend this place, but don't come just for the BBQ. Read more
Found this place while finishing up a really long walk. Saw the huge sign that said BBQ and felt the gravitational pull. Since... that day I have been here numerous times and it is always amazing. Ordered take out last night I haven?t eaten here or had take out since Covid so I?ve been yearning for some good bbq I decided... to order and get there in time for it to be right out of the oven. I ordered brisket which I had here prior to Covid and thistime ribs and a side of Mac n cheese. As others noted everything is al a carte and cafeteria style when dining in or out thatannoys me. For the price there should be service l. The side order is very small a little cup like a kfc. The Mac n cheese whicheveryone raves about was not what it looks like in the pictures. It was dry a little undone and stuck together like asupermarket microwave mac maybe less dry. I was looking forward to a cheesy creamy ooey gooey Mac n cheese this was gritty dry nhard. The brisket was dry too only 2 thin slices felt it was way too much and not worth the high price I was drowning it bbqsauce to moisten it up. Look at the pic of my brisket and the restaurants ordering area. Mine has no color. Management shouldcheck orders..I especially arrived early to avoid cold food. I live 3 mins away and food was Luke warm. The stars are for theribs which I thought were juicy, delicious and butter tender only thing I liked.
