Not even worth 1 star, made reservations 2 weeks in advance and requested to sit inside. Called 2 days prior to our reservation... to follow up on our request to sit inside. We showed up 1/2 hour before our reservation, got a drink and waited for our table.After waiting for 30 minutes past our reservation they offered us a table outside which we declined as we requested a tableinside. This was for a birthday celebration for our daughter. Numerous people came in without a reservation and were seated.When speaking with the maitre d they were rude and aggressive and kept throwing the offer of an outside table in our face. After45 minutes past our reservation time we left. People sitting at the bar could not believe the arrogance of the maitre’d andeven the Bartender apologized for how we were treated. Moral of this is if your not a regular don’t expect fair treatment. Tomany good restaurants in Huntington to put up with this type of service or lack of service. Read more
This was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. The staff were helpful and attentive, and the food was... excellent. I wish I would have been able to try their deserts, but I was too full from a great dinner! If you are looking for anice meal out I would recommend Piccolo. Read more
We had dinner on Friday September 30. Just after we sat down and ordered our drinks the manager came over who had read our... previous review below. I was flabbergasted that Piccolo would be that attentive to address the issue in person the very nexttime we dined there. Our experience was excellent. The service was impeccable throughout. I had the Crispy Bluepoint Oysters foran appetizer which I can't seem to pass up. The twice roasted duck in pomegranate sauce with shaved braised brussel sprouts wasup there with the best duck I have ever had and I have had many quackers over the years. My wife had the onion soup which had awonderful fragrance followed by the blackened sliced pork tenderloin with the shaved braised brussel sprouts. She lovedit. Definitely a 5***** evening. It was an extremely pleasant experience. I would rate Piccolo 5***** with one exception. Wewere there last night and before we sat down we were asked if we wanted to order a drink. This invariably happens on each visit.Back off until a patron gets settled. Other than that the service and food is excellent. I had the Crispy Oysters for anappetizer and the Soft Shell Crabs as an entree. Outstanding. My wife had the Zucchini Flowers for an appetizer and the StrippedBass for an entree. She loved the Bass and raved about the vegetables. The wine selection compliments any menu item. There is agood bar with a nice selection. We could not handle dessert but the Expresso was hot and delicious The environment is active,cozy and pleasant with indoor and outdoor dining. Food was average at best. Very nice staff. I would not go back for the food.
Both my and my dinner friend ordered the special, chealian seabass. Big mistake .. both were salted to the maximum degree... possible and the fish didn't have a fresh texture or taste. Compared to the other dishes that came to the table the portion wasvery small and overall very disappointing. My other friend ordered the chicken scarparello, the portion was family sized but thepieces of chicken were so overly cooked that they were dry as a bone. As you can see one diner spat it out ... (sorry)...Another dish was the shrimp special, though a huge portion size it was overly sauced and the coating on the shrimp wassoggy. The pinot noir was delicious. Read more
