I asked for a Mexican pizza with shredded beef and quacamole. I paid $18 + gave $3 + tip. I live in Santa Ana and was excited... to eat don Joses food. I'm 58 y/o and have been eating here for decades. This time I feel ripped off. There was a tea spoon ofquacamole, and they made it with ground beef. Not shredded beef. It was gross! Been a staple for 40+ years. My personal favorite is the Mexican pizza. There are only two places I know of to get Mexican pizza... and it would be hard to say which is best if ranked 1-10 but Don Josés Mexican pizza is a 10. There are two sizes, "full" amd"half". If you're not a Sumo wrestler amd are eating ths dishe alone, order the half, youll probably end up taking a 1/4 of theHalf home unless you are an Olympic eater. The Full odrder is totally a sharable dish. Great service, consistent great food, allthe chips and salsa you can stuff in your face. They have a full bar on the premises. Do yourself a favor and try the pace ifyou don't already now what the locals know. Straight up great SoCal Mexican sit down restaurant! Super Raciest!!!! My brother and I went to this restaurant for a kareoke night and looking to have some good food and had... neither. The DJ host would only play songs to his friends all white people. We were the first ones to ask for a song andliterally were watching how he would play everyone else songs but ours. We are from Seattle and never seen this guy and did nothave any conflict with the establishment whatsoever. I asked him why he was being like that and got supper rude andaggressive. And on top of that no body would bring us even the menus to order food. I would really not recommend this place!!!!Never been treaded this way before. Read more

Clean good food and the staff was friendly and attentive.

Ok customer service but it was very busy today so it's completely understandable. I had the chefs special for 15$ and it was... arguably enough for two and delicious. It was however semi crowded, and social distancing was not exactly in effect if this issomething important to you. Otherwise look forward to great decor and salsa. Read more
