Omg omg omg! Don?t walk run to this place! The real deal Italian Sandwich shop and more. I have been wanting to try this place... so me and my brothers got a few sandwiches from here let me tell you beyond delicious creative and it was even better than Ithought it would be. I took a picture after I started eating the sandwich my brothers inhaled their sandwich?s so that?s donewith. I got the ?cugine? which means cousin in Italian. Perfect combination of Crispy fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella pesto, arugula, sun dried tomato spread and ready for this on SALAMI bread! They had me at salami bread, In Brooklyn it?s sometimescalled lard bread but this is just salami bread very soft big chunks of salami cheesy flavor too, absolutely delicious. Thesandwich's were so heavy in weight coming out of the bag, No skimping here! Now that?s a sandwich! Coming from Brooklyn Iappreciate this small quaint Italian eatery and the homage to Brooklyn. They sell Manhattan special soda another Brooklynstaple. My brothers got the 18th Ave sandwich and was blown away?chicken was like butter. Very nice owner and friendly staff Icalled them after a few bites to praise..they also cater as well. Even the sandwich bag was so elegant along with the labels onthe hero?s, nice touch guys! I am so impressed as you can get so used to mediocre quality and subpar service at Italian deliimposters that over charge you so when you experience the real deal it?s like Christmas! Highly recommend A+++++ Mercato Cucinais An Excellent addition to the neighborhood! Paula Read more

The absolute BEST sandwich you can have on Long Island, and perhaps NY State, and no, I am not related to the owners. ... Meticulous care goes into every Sandwich. Mozzarella is made 3x a day. Absolutely no question you should come here. Parking isa pain though, but screw it, it?s worth it. Read more

Chef David catered our son?s first birthday party. Having hosted and attended many catered events in the past, we can truly say... this was one of the best experiences. From the presentation to the taste, every item was meticulously prepared and packed withunique flavors. We cannot wait to use Mercato again for our next event. When planning your next party, look no further thanMercato as Chef David will provide high quality and deliciously beautiful food. Read more

Better than 5 stars! Reminds me of the deli sandwiches of Bensonhurst Brooklyn. The names of the sandwiches reflect that area of... Brooklyn and I haven't had one since I moved out of there in the late 90s. Well not anymore! This place will definitely be on myplaces to regularly visit. The sandwiches may seem a bit on the expensive side at first glance but do not be deterred. They areworth every penny and then some. The ingredients are top notch and the bread, the bread alone is worth the trip to visit theshop. I haven't had bread like this in a very long time. A often forgotten piece of the sandwich puzzle but great bread willmake a great sandwich even better. We had the capo and 18th ave today and I am definitely craving the godmother and rocco forthe next visit. I finished the entire sandwich and didn't feel bloated, just a happy full. No acid reflux, no gassy burps, justa calm and happy satiated stomach. I am not a big coffee drinker (figure a random one once a month) but the dyker heights andcinque have changed my mind. I can drink these two everyday. I can't find anything displeasing about Mercato Cucina. Theparking can be a little scarce (although there is a resident permit parking lot across the street which is almost alwaysempty.) Buy any one of their sandwiches which spikes your interest, drink a coffee while the sandwich is being made, take homesaid sandwich and enjoy with an adult beverage of your choice then live happily ever after! The first time I visited Mercato my expectations were admittedly pretty low. I was hangry and stopped in because it was... convenient, ignoring the fact that the last place open in this spot served week old bagels. I brought home ?The Capo? and myfirst impression was that it was enough for 2 meals? it was so good that it wound up being 2 bites. I?ve visited at leastanother dozen times since and each time I?m just as impressed as the first. The sandwiches are generous in size and made withtruly top shelf ingredients. I?ve lived in Huntington my whole life and can guarantee no one is putting out a product like this.My girlfriend and I both recently attended a cheese making class hosted by Chef David. He taught the basic principles of freshcheese and how to incorporate them into home cooked dishes. We?ve both been cooking since we were kids yet learned so much fromChef David at class. The Chef, and his better half Deb, are truly committed to their shop and making it feel like home for theircustomers - just don?t ask him for whole wheat bread, subways down the road. I?m so thankful to have Mercato so close by. Don?tmiss it! Read more

Beautiful shop with delicious sandwiches and all things Italian. The 67th st sandwich was perfect with fresh mozzarella and... broccoli raab. Lots of jarred goods, pizza flour, freshly made dough to take home, pasta, sauces, cured meat, and bread. Theshop also does catering and has cooking classes Monday evenings. Thank you for being so kind and showing me around. Can't waitto come back! Read more

At the moment I'm hooked on grilled chicken, broccoli rabe and fresh mozz on a hunk of Italianbread... With Garlic aioli sauce. Mamma Mia... So good.
