We came here for a weekday dinner. The food was delicious and beautiful in presentation in general. Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi and... Pork & Peaches were good. Crispy Scale Snapper was good, but I might want to try the Green Tomato Gazpacho next time. Sweet CornAgnolotti was okay - not particularly impressive. Chocolate Cremeux was delicious but the chocolate piece was a bit too sweetand too much. We enjoyed the bread and cocktails as well. The service was pretty good. It’s definitely on the pricier side:5-course dinner plus two cocktails would be somewhere $250-300 after tax and tips. Overall, it’s a good fine dining experiencealthough I’m not sure if I would come back again for this price point. Read more

We headed to gravitas on a Friday night - first, the service is amazing. They explain the dishes, go above and beyond on wine... etc. I hate seafood, my favorite vegetable is corn....this is for perspective. The meal was still amazing. I had a salad with20+ vegetables and it was delicious. The sushimi didn't taste like fish, flavorful really good, soba noodles are awesome, favorite was probably the pork belly or as bad as it sounds the fing bread. Amazing. Cocktails, tried about 4 all fantasticfavorite was an aged rum with "almond glass" no idea what that meant but I ate it with little to no gum damage. Make a trip it'sabsolutely worth it. Read more

The food was good, but for the price, I was expecting more flavor. I got the swordfish, and it was lacking a bit. I also got the... oysters, but they’re not what you would expect upon ordering oysters. They were more like ceviche. A wide variety of optionson the menu. The service was great. Would recommend if you’re willing to spend a decent amount of money, but my food wasn’tas good as I was expecting for a Michelin star. Read more

What a great dining experience. Our server was super helpful with cocktail and wine advice. The online menu shows a 3 and 5... course option, but we were only shown the 5-course option and had to ask for the 3-course option. It's "pre-theatre" and onlyavailable in the first hour of service, though we were there for longer; we arrived in the 5 o'clock hour. Cocktails weregorgeous and delicious, though super, super pricey (one was $28). The food was tasty, and I appreciated that it leaned heavilyon local and fresh. Parking is tough, and signs are badly marked and inconsistent, so give yourself some time to figure thatout. They have a private room in the upper level. Read more

Underwhelming. Poor pacing - 5 course meal took about 3 hours. Good service, extremely slow kitchen. For the Michelin star and... the price, food expected should be better. Other similarly priced and recognized restaurants delivered better food andexperience. Bill including 5 course tasting menu, caviar course, drinks for 2 people - $610 including tip. At 305 per person, the food and experience should be stellar, not poorly paced and mediocre. Read more

Last Thursday evening, I had one of the most memorable dining experiences ever, and certainly the best in the last ten years of... eating out a LOT all over the country. Gravitas DC's Chef's counter, with it's 15+ courses is certainly a splurge, but ifanything is splurge worthy, this IS it. Watching the "ballet" in the kitchen is always fun, but sitting adjacent to the pass andwatching the finishing and expediting of the regular menu (wow!) was a new and treasured experience. I've posted a few photo's,but they hardly capture the beauty, precision, creativity, and utter deliciousness within each and every course. Looking back, the highest praise that I can give is that when the chef's asked my favorites, it was honestly impossible to say, as I wanted tohave all of them again and again and again. It was pretty cool seeing the honeycomb (pic) as part of our cheese course. I amalready anticipating a return to Gravitas in the not too distant future. Read more

Wonderful dinner! We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and added caviar course, and everything was delicious. I especially... loved the Crispy Sweetbreads and Maine Lobster. For a cocktail try the Where There's Smoke, There's Fire- it was amazing! Highlyrecommend. Read more
