This was the worst and nastiest I've ever had in the City.. BBQ Brisket and Beef sandwiches both were so extremely dry and... tasted horrible the ham had no flavor and sides were bearable as were the sauces. We couldn't hardly eat the meat at all andsaved it for the dog. Won't return definitely not the BBQ joint for me. Only reason you'd eat here is because you can't affordgood BBQ. Read more
I was really looking forward to some great BBQ after reading the reviews. However, I was truly disappointed The food was... backyard at best and thats being nice. Meat was bland with no flavor. Sauce wasn't great it was really gritty. The fries wereawful and cheese corn was basic. I have a lot of great BBQ in this city but I'm afraid this isn't one them. Wow. Real Kansas City take on burnt ends! This is exactly the type of friendly, tasty local BBQ joint you want to eat at while... in Kansas City. Sure, there are a lot of mainstream stops in this part of the world but why not experience somethingspecial. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly was hot and portioned generously. One note - ask for theHot Mistress BBQ sauce. It?s delicious and infused with ghost pepper oil. I visited A Little BBQ Joint for a happy hour and hope to go back soon for a full meal. The pork belly and pretzels were... absolutely delicious. I would go back for the pork belly alone. The wait staff was very busy, but also friendly and helpful.For how busy they were, it really didn?t take long to get our food or drinks. The atmosphere was laid back and casual. Thebrick building is really cute and much nicer than most of the buildings in the neighborhood. The outdoor seating was ample andcovered. The only drawback was the presence of smokers on the patio area. There were ash trays on the table, so smoking in theoutdoor area wasn?t discouraged. As a non-smoker, I appreciate smoke far away from my table. They were really packed for a 4pmon Tuesday, but their employees clearly kept up with keeping everything clean. I would definitely return here. I had the Mad Hog with two sides, but the menu only says one. My two sides were cheesy corn and... Baked Beans. The sandwich was honestly amazing and really fills you up. The beans were super delicious I did however add alittle BBQ sauce to add a little more spice. We also had the Bacon chips but we demolished those before we could take a picture.The place filled extremely quickly. Read more
