The atmosphere is really great, especially at breakfast time. Perfect place to have a conversation over a classic meal. Service... was excellent. Food was a little disappointing, but not bad. Read more

Although there was a Mgr and 4 servers (and only 1-2 kitchen staff), the service was mediocre at best. There were maybe 6 tables... of patrons but we stood for over 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we needed to be seated. Finally seated, it tookanother 10 minutes before she waited on us and got our drinks and took our order. We also reminded her we needed silverware. Myhusband asked for coffee and creamer, but she forgot the creamer. His coffee got cold before she returned to tell us the kitchenwas running slow. Again we asked for creamer and silverware and a fresh cup of coffee. She brought it right back and said thekitchen was really slow. Finally our food came out and it was all very hot and tasty. When we got up to leave, we had to waitfor about 8 minutes before one of the 5 people standing right there decided to ring us out. Thankfully the food was good. Read more

Delicious food at a good price. I enjoyed my lemon pepper sole fillet with broccoli and Cole slaw. The slaw was a little old,... but the fillet and broccoli were delicious. The banana bread was fantastic, but it came out long after I finished my meal. Theplace was not busy on an early Friday evening, but the service was still a little slow (I think they may be understaffed). Theportion sizes were a little smaller, but sufficient considering the price. If you want a flavorful meal at a good price and havethe time this is a good place for dinner. Read more

Poor old Bob is hearing his end and it is clear by everything I've seen over the years. I remember as a child in the 90's when... this place was packed, loud, and delicious. Now, not so much. The upside: order the chicken noodles and mashed potatoes as theyare still delicious. The downside: the meats are pretty tasteless. The biscuits were extremely hard and dead. The pancakesweren't nearly as thick. Finally, corporate decided that instead of raising the prices they would go the other way by shrinkingportion sizes. My 5 year old ordered the kid's turkey dinner and I order the adult pot roast dinner. My child's plate had morefood than mine. We both had the same size scoop of mashed potatoes, the same portion size of glazed carrots, but our meats werevery different. He had two large slices of turkey which was dry. I had about .25 oz of what looked like cat food. I asked ifthere had been a mistake. The waitress apologized and told me about reduced portion sizes. She asked if I wanted another portionof meat for free. I said sure thing and she brought me a plate with more cat food. I ate what I could and went on my way. Wouldhave given them one star but the servers were very good. So they earned the second star. I will probably not return unless I wasinvited by someone else who is paying. My money stays with me from now on. Read more

I would like to preface this post with the warning that I waitressed for a long time, so I typically provide a lot of grace when... it comes to dining because I know how terrible things can be. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was pleased because thehostess was able to get our party of 6 seated immediately, when other restaurants in the area had an hour plus wait time. However, the good experience stopped at the immediate seating. The waitress was inattentive. We waited so long between ourdrinks being dropped off and the time that we ordered, that I had to go look for her to let her know we were ready to order. Wehad two small children with us who were starting to get fussy because of the long wait. I had to stand and hold one of them tokeep them relatively quiet, which piqued the waitress? attention. Not so politely, I asked her to get a biscuit, crackers, bread, or SOMETHING to help pacify the children. She brought every single one of those items, but no round plates to eat themon. Drinks were not refilled in a timely manner. We asked three times for a refill on my partner?s drink, to no avail. Mypartner had to go to the waitress station to get someone to refill it for him. When the food came, only half of it was broughtout. The SALADS we had to wait on were brought out several minutes later. Any experienced waitress knows that salads take 7minutes or less, depending on if there?s meat on top of it. Which leads me to believe that she forgot to put in the saladorders. My daughter?s macaroni and cheese had clearly been sitting under the warmer and was cold. I had a small black hair, thatappeared to be a beard hair, on my plate. The waitress? section was nearly empty, but she had not cleared away or cleaned any ofthe other tables. When I went to the women?s restroom, it smelled like urine as soon as you opened the door, there was toiletpaper on the floors, the mirrors were dirty, and the two of the three stalls were out of toilet paper. The entire time Read more

I stopped in with my family for breakfast the other day. I should mention that I did used to manage a few Bob Evans restaurants... so I am aware of their standards. We had a relatively large party and those can always be challenging, we called in advance tonotify the staff so they could prepare, I was told they don?t take reservations, and I told him that I just want to make surethey know we are coming to avoid stressing the staff on a Tuesday morning. I noticed upon pulling up that the dumpster was notclosed and was attracting birds. Once we got in the restaurant we were not greeted, we had to approach the staff ourselves. Thehost pointed us to a section cordoned off for us, which was great. The real issues started shortly after the waitress startedtaking our drink orders. There was no ice coffee, so instead of bringing that for our order, the waitress brought a cup of roomtemperature coffee with no ice. That was new and pretty disgusting. No apology was offered when this was pointed out, not sureif that?s an Indiana thing, but room temp coffee is gross. Then we started looking around easily finding greasy handprints onthe wall. Going into the bathroom was entertaining. They had wet floor signs up, although the floor was dry. It was very obviousthat they were cleaning the floor with dirty water or the wrong chemical. It was slicker than an ice rink. The floor around theurinal was absolutely covered in urine. When pointed out the waitress dismissed it as poor air circulation. We didn?t see amanager the entire time we were there, and we were there for over an hour and a half. If there was a manager on site, we wouldhave pointed out the undercooked sausage in our omelette, the hair on our plate, the bug in the fruit salad, and the chemicaltaste in the hash browns. I want to note the person who are those hash browns became very sick by the next morning. All told, this was beyond disgusting. I always take my family to Bob Evans when we come to town, because I Read more

Where do I start? Got there with my bf on our way back to IL, we were starving so we decided to stop there just to try somewhere... new. - Big mistake- Hmm, the place was nice. The waiter that seats us was rude, we didn't let that bother us cause we werehungry. The turning point was when they let our food sit under the heating lamp for 20 mins and had the nerve to bring the foodout as if it has just been made. The food was cold so, we got up and left. We waited for our food for 45 mins, they had 2 morewaitresses like be helpful and bring the food to us but noooo, they stood there chatting away. Read more
