My wife & I had the pleasure to dine at Edelweiss on a short trip to Indy. Beautiful location, situated a bit off of the main... roads in a nice shady park. Our food was delicious! We had eaten a large lunch not too long before dinner so I was unable tofinish my sauerbraten, which was amazing. The chef noticed I hadn't finished my meal so they gave my wife a free piece of GermanChocolate Cake thinking I did not enjoy my meal. Nothing could be further from the truth. It felt like having a meal at my great-grandfather's house. Wood paneling on the walls, dimly lit atmosphere, live music... playing, and the food was like a call back to my childhood. If you are looking for good authentic German fare at a moreaffordable price, this is the place! Read more

The food here was absolutely terrific! Some places offer homestyle dishes like your mom used to make. This place offers... homestyle dishes like someone else's mom made, and they're all delicious. My favorite was the shepherds pie, but everything theyserved was great. Wednesday nights are "buffeteria" style. They serve you like a cafeteria but you keep going back until you'refinished. Non-members price was $16.95 which I felt was fair for the quality of food and service provided. If you want to trysomething a little out of the ordinary I highly recommend a Edelweiss! I'll certainly be back when I cost the area again. Callahead reservations are recommended. Read more
Awesome food and fantastic service, try the Curry Wurst. Also had the Ruben and pretzel.
We started with fried mushrooms---very tasty and a surprisingly large serving. After that, I had a very tasty house soup while... my wife had a somewhat disappointing house salad. Our entrees were Wiener schnitzel, which was wonderful though there was atough bit that should have been cut out, and a sausage selection that was exactly what we expected from a German restaurant. Sides were horseradish mashed potatoes (definitely recommend), German potato salad (a bit sweet, but tasty), sauerkraut (meh),and red cabbage (good). We normally skip dessert, but were impressed enough with the food overall to get desserts (strudel andGerman chocolate cake) both of which were great. On top of all this, the service was very good.
