I walked in all the teenagers were at the counter talking no greeting until I stood there the one young lady finally asked me if... I would be dining in or eating out and took me to the register. My first indication of issues should have been that my soda hadno ice what so ever in it. If I didn?t want ice and wanted warm soda would have asked for no ice. Once I got my food asked aboutmy onion rings which resembled French fries after getting in my car it looks to be the remains out of the bottom of the bag theyhave no flavor and half cooked. When I addressed this with them they flat looked at me like I inconvenienced them and went backto chatting. Customer service goes a long way hopefully they can find more time to be more attentive to the customers instead ofsocializing Read more

Stopped to grab a bite to eat cause it had been years since I'd been to and A&W. Service was fast and courteous. Best onion... rings I have had in a long time. Picture was taken after I had ate half of them. Read more

Really cool place to eat. Really takes you back in time. I was so happy when the lady brought the root beer to the table in a... frosted mug just like the old days. The fish was very good. It was really cool, you order from a phone in the wall at yourbooth. We dined in but they also have drive up and drive in just like the old days. My wife and I enjoyed it and had a greattime. We highly recommend it. Definitely give this place a try. Read more

I had no idea that A&W restaurants even existed anymore. Stopped not once, but twice on the road to Knoxville from Lincoln, NE.... Dined in for lunch on the way out and had to stop again on the way back home to grab some mid morning floats. I love how theypreserved the old school atmosphere. Food and service were top notch. Whatever y'all are doing, keep doing it. We'll ALWAYSstop in when we are doing our Knoxville trip! Read more

Try their cheese curds and the chicken fingers are incredible! Honestly, never been disappointed. Also, I know it should be... obvious but get the root beer. It's like they brewed it with vanilla ice cream. It's incredible! Read more

Almost as good as I remembered! The Root Beer Float was simply delicious and the onion rings perfect! Loved that they still have... the car hop style ordering and the change machine on their belt! A trip back in time is always a fun date night!! Read more

This place is AWESOME! They have preserved the original magic. You can either order from your car and have it brought out, or... sit at a booth and call I'm your order. Never been so happy in my life to see something good left in its wonderful glory. Thefood is delish, too! I had a Papa combo with cheese curds. Hot and fresh and delivered to my table in 7 minutes. Of course had arootbeer with my dinner. Toppings piled high on the burger. Cheese curds perfect- piping hot and melty but not leaking out thedelicious cheese. A group of truly pleasant people working. I could hear their laughter and that in itself was a treat. Insideimmaculate- original decor and fixtures to die for. Indianola is only 10 miles away from Des Moines so easy access. My dinnerwas only $11. I think kids and adults both would enjoy this throwback restaurant. Happy as a clam to have discovered this gem.
