Wasn?t pleased with my order, ordered turkey plate, I got smoked Turkey that they bought from the store rather than regular... authentic Nigerian cooked turkey. They were very greedy with the food portion and they made a lot of avoidable mistakes. Read more

I was sold three BLAND chicken legs and a boatload of rice at the Marina Del Rey location for $25. What a rip-off! I could... have paid a bill with that money. Since I was very hungry, I ate one of the chicken legs and about two tablespoons of the rice. I threw the rest of the disgusting meal in the garbage where it belonged. I would rather eat dog food. How these peoplemanaged to open a restaurant in Marina Del Rey, of all places, I will NEVER understand. They should be run out of town fortheir avarice. Read more

This was my first time eating at Sumotous African restaurant and it was amazing! The Fufu and Ewedu/Gbegri with fish was the... right amount of spice and very filling. The host was very friendly and explained all the different dishes in detail forme. Overall, very good food, plenty of flavor, and I'll be back for sure. Read more

The jollof rice was fine (not amazing). The beef was burnt, like I could barely eat it and ended up throwing it away, the 4... small pieces I received. I puff puff seemed old; wasn't as light and fluffy as I'm used to. For sauce or stew to add flavor tomy food, they wanted to charge $3 or $4. What African/ Nigerian restaurant charges for stew!?! There is no menu, just order whatyou see and you have to ask for prices. The waiter or person behind the counter was not welcoming, though she wasn't meaneither. I'm a picky eater and this place was not it. I don't recommend this place. Read more

I placed an order yesterday for a tray of okra without meat. I get there today and to start off the wahala, despite the fact... that he was on the phone with me while I paid via zelle, called and confirmed with the owner that the payment went through, theshort cashier starts chastising me "did you pay, did you pay, are you sure you paid". Then he starts attacking the cook "are yousure there's no meat because she didn't pay for meat. The lady made the mistake if adding meat. He tells me to give him the soupso they can remove the meat. How preposterous!!! They literally took the soup and fished out the meat. ???? I asked for aplastic bag, he said "we dont give plastic bags". There's always one thing or another going on. No change for customers, rudecustomer service, the same short guy telling me "do you even tip", the female employees rolling their eyes, and arguing with me. I just spent $135 and I asked for a side of pepper, and he's giving me an amount the size of a tablespoon saying "this is veryexpensive sauce". I think his Napoleon complex is getting to his senses. I had to tell him that the things he says areunnecessary, but i dont blame him, its the owner that encorages their behavior. As I was leaving he didn't say thank you, cameoutside to unlock the security gate and was staring me down as I drove away. (Side note: my uncle came here months ago and vowedto never come back because the woman cashier didn't want to give him change, they ordered like $100 worth of food and said hewould walk to the store next door for change, she refused, so he just cancelled the entire order. I went to visit him and he'sfuriously ranting about his experience at a Nigerian restaurant and it happened to be this one.) Read more
