We have ordered from Formosa for years. The last two times, the nigiri was tough, sinewy, and not at all the same quality it... been. The tuna and salmon were like the grocery store sushi. We hesitate to order from them again. Very dissapointed. Read more

My sushi standards aren’t very high, but this was bad. Everything we ordered was just off. The miso soup saved this from being... a 1 star review! Read more

Very good food even for a beginner sushi eater. The crab rangoons are the best ive had. And the drinks... oh my god yes.

I have been coming here through the last 10-12 years and this is the last time. This is not sushi anymore. Looking at the menu... card reveal’s everything. Here are so many roll options and bizarre combo’s that it should have made me go out the doorbefore ordering. Most of the rolls are made with eel sauce or so much mayo that you can’t taste what is in the roll. Theycould have settled with one roll option because they all turn out to taste the same. The rolls are made without passion, chunksare uneven and either too small or too big everything just gives them away for being too far from the original Japanese kitchen. The kitchen has been deteriorating over the years like a good story being handed over through generations where after being atotally different story.(read: kitchen) So, if you must go to the restaurant order from the appetizers they were on the otherhand extra ordinary as if they were made by a totally different chef(maybe it is). The waiter was very friendly but shorts andsandals don’t work for me. Sorry! Read more

Just okay. They have a good drink menu has a lot of interesting sushi roles, but most of them just taste like cream cheese and... sauce. It's not that authentic and I was a little disappointed with the price. It wasn't the absolute worst, but I won't begoing back. Read more

On par with the better places in downtown Chicago. Generous cuts of fish on the nigiri and the signature rolls are full of... flavors without being overwhelming. Read more

I like that this Sushi place is located in the downtown area. I prefer carry out and choosing a nice spot downtown to eat... because their place is usually packed and service is slow. Their sushi rolls are good to share. Popular items are in red ontheir menu, so they easily stand out. Personal favs: dragon, crunchy calamari, and caterpillar rolls. Now they have menu viewingand payment through QR code if you don’t like to wait. Read more
