I've been to HSK five times in the last month. They were only open twice. Both times, I got the cobb salad. Both times, I was... blown away by how fresh and delicious it was. They're only open for a hot minute most days. And it's not uncommon for them tobe closed because they got a sweet catering gig. Can't fault them for that. One of my favorite places in Iowa City. Not only is the food amazing but I've had the immense pleasure of working with the owner... a couple times. Barb the owner greeted us the door, explained the menu and ordering process when we first arrived. Service was prompt. The... restaurant was very comfortable to enjoy a well prepared, delectable meal. Today was the first time I ate here, my sister knew the place and we feel lucky it was open in spite of road work signs and... blocks on Dubuque. The GF bread, toasted for the sandwiches, was delicious; best GF bread I've had to date; everything was sofresh, the pesto, spinach, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese; everything was clean and scrumptious! The potato chips make bigbrand organic kettle chips seem overly processed! Our sandwiches were so tasty my sister and I got a third and split it! Ihaven't been impressed with a sandwich in a long time! Fantastic food, friendly, welcoming service. And, I am glad it's tuckedaway a bit away from central downtown. Read more
