Food was great! Service was great! But you lost our business by charging a credit card convenience fee without notifying us! By... the way this was not the case when we ate here less than 20 days ago as I still have that receipt! As a local business owner, my family and I have dined here forever and loved the food and the atmosphere. We spent $500-700 each time we eat here andconsider it a gem and a very classy place for Iowa city area! But, this all changed as of 10 minutes ago when I spend $500 on adinner for my family and saw a CC convenience fee added to our bill! Not classy at all! What you did is illegal in state ofIowa! You need to be transparent with your customers at first, but you are not! Also, when you charged $30-40 for a plate forfood in Iowa city, and mark up your bottles of wine 100% or more, we bought two for almost $200, you don?t have the right togive us those fees and deduct it at the end of tax the season! That by any definition is called double dipping! I absolutelywill not tolerate businesses like yours. You may call it what you want, but what you?re doing is an attempt to screw yourcustomer base. I hope the cc convenience fee was worth it to you. Because, you have lost my support and are receiving a badreview. I got the shrimp sweet potato gnocchi. The shrimp were large but didn't seem super fresh. I realize this is the Midwest so I... understand the ocean is distant. ?My steak knife was dull, 1-star? a lot of these low star reviews are hilarious. Ate here for my birthday on a Saturday night,... Maddie was our server and did a great job. I got filet mignon, which was delicious and cooked perfectly. The brussels were goodand very rich as an appetizer. (The lady didn?t want the escargot like I did) The restaurant has very high ceilings and largewindows so it can get loud in there, yet you?ll always be able to hear people at your table. We were there during a thunderstormwhich felt quite neat. This was a great meal and easily one of the best I?ve had in Iowa City. You can be picky and CHOOSE tofind something to complain or enjoy your delicious meal and enjoy a nice night together. Excellent food and professional service. The cowboy ribeye was prepared to perfection. All the appetizers were exceptional in... taste and presentation. The jalapeño margarita was a surprising favorite. Relaxing atmosphere that feels unlike anywhere inIowa City. My boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner here for the last night of his visit here. We shared the Brussels sprouts, an order of... focaccia, and the ribeye steak. I had the hot and filthy martini (pictured 3rd) as well as a cranberry manhattan - so good! Hehad the signature orchard green martini (pictured second). Nathan, our server, was so polite and provided stellar service thewhole meal. Can't wait for my next visit. My one, very tiny complaint - the pours of the draft beers are just too foamy. Orchard Green is always a slam dunk! Their food and drink is always LOVELY and today the server, Kate, was immaculate. We loved... our experience here, as always. Love the rotating menu so there?s always something new to experience. We had very high expectations going in after having read all of the raving reviews. High expectations have often led to... disappointment for us but Orchard Green did not let us down! It was amazing! We decided to head downstairs to the lounge so thatwe could try the burgers and sandwiches. Here?s the rundown of what we got and what we thought: Crab cakes: small but heavenly!And crammed FULL of tender crab (not a bunch of fillers). The sauces and flavors on the plate were the perfect complement to thecrab. A fantastic start. Artisan cheese board: I wish I could buy every sauce they had on that platter, the flavors were richand unique and fantastic paired with the yummy cheeses and breads. Lobster squash bisque: exactly what you expect, creamy andcomforting. Caesar salad: the only disappointment we had. We love Caesar salad but we felt like this Caesar dressing waslacking in flavor to our personal tastes. But lettuce was crisp and the garnishes were perfect for a Caesar salad, especiallythe yummy crisps for croutons. OG Burger: Amazing! One of my favorite burgers I?ve ever had. So much flavor in the meat (whichcan be such a miss at some restaurants), and the flavor of everything on it was wonderful. My spouse and I went for our third anniversary to someplace we had never tried before. Perusing a few other menus, Orchard... Green's caught our eye. We were greated and seated very quickly and politely in the lounge area of the restaurant. Our waitstaff was sweet, attentive, offering suggestions, and upbeat smile. The crab cakes were amazing and our entrées were fantastic.Highlights were our martinis, the Tuscan Lemon Drop and Hibiscus flower were wonderfully balanced, the sauces accompanying thecrab cakes, how well seasoned everything was, green beans perfectly cooked and crisp, the salmon cooked exactly right, and myOrchard Green burger was perfection. As a amateur chef myself, I have high standards for restaurants and by far this was thebest meal my spouse and I have eaten, ever.
