Have always liked Shakespeare?s. Really disappointed tonight. Went for their prime rib special and tried to order at 6:30 but... they were already out of it. Then my wife tried to order a sour beer they said they had just tapped, but they couldn?t get itto work correctly, so she had to settle for something else. They also add a ?convenience fee? to the bill. Only $1.65 to a $50bill, but why slip a fee in at the end. Just price your food like you want to price it. Food was OK and service was quick, butreally disappointing experience. Not sure we?ll go back again. There are a lot of other good options in Iowa City. Read more
Food was fine other than the fact that I ordered a Philly and got an Italian beef dressed as a Philly. My waitress however... ended up making me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. She took our drink orders and then stood silently staring at My husband.We aren't young but early 30s and some places have a policy that states that if you look under 40 or 50 you must show ID so Itold him to get his ID and she looked at me like I was stupid and said she didn't need it. We then ordered and I asked what wason the side salad , I've had them anywhere from lettuce and tomatoes only to a fully put together salad but in a very smallportion. She said " it's a salad" with a tone and titled her head wide eyed like I had just asked the dumbest question she everheard. We had several other waiters come by and were very friendly but nearly nearly every time our actual waitress came overshe made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. Read more
Went there because I heard they have great hamburgers. Parking lot was full at lunchtime so always a good sign. The waitress... was very efficient. Drinks served right away and food followed shortly. It was hot and tasty. I did not visit the bathroom andoutside seating had both open to sun or umbrellas. Read more
Driving through and decided to stop here for lunch. Absolutely fantastic! The beer list is great and will have something you... will end up loving. My husband ordered the bacon and blue bison burger and I got the triple decker club. Both sandwiches weredelicious. The meat on the club is smoked in house and the crinkle cut fries were piping hot and yummy. The bartenders were ontop of it and so friendly. Definitely will be back when we drive through again! 3/4 restaurant 1/4 dive bar. get the bacon buffalo burger (lean buffalo does not like to be overcooked!) perfectly cooked... crispy tator tots will leave you questioning everyone else's methods. plenty of adventure on the beer menu.
