This is the best ramen restaurant in Iowa City. The soup bases have a wonderful depth in flavor. The variety of vegetables in... the ramen is great. The service is great and the environment of sitting in the mall is very pleasant. Highly recommend tryingHoja, they do not disappoint. Read more

I now consider this my favorite restaurant. And the ramen is AMAZING. The broth is rich and light at the same time, I don?t know... how, I?m confused in the best way, it?s so delicious I could have it on its own. I tried the vegetarian options as well, it?ssoooo good. I?m writing this review on a Sunday because I?m craving it so much! The Vietnamese vegetarian curry and the tonkatsuramen are my favorite meal options so far. I can?t wait to try all of the other items. You have found yourself a regularcustomer Read more

It?s super worthy to get those classical and big meals! If you love the spicy ramen, you must try spicy miso ramen! The fried... pork rice and Katsu Don are delicious with good volume! BBQ chicken has vegetables and good tastes! Read more

i ordered the tonkatsu ramen and vegetarian ramen. both were pretty mid. the tonkatsu only came with two slices of pork and the... flavor was too mild for my taste, but the portion sizes are pretty large. don't expect amazing authentic ramen here, but if youare really craving japanese style ramen it'll do the job. speed of service was alright, and the lady at cash register is supernice. I ordered the Spicy Thai Curry Chicken Stir Fry. I expected something along the lines of Japanese curry, or curry sauce with... chicken and rice. What I received was an unseasoned veggie mix, with chunks of chicken, and a pound of white rice on the bottom. No seasoning, NO curry flavor, and a ton of garlic. Like, a LOT of garlic, as if to compensate for the lack of seasoning. I amnot exaggerating when I say this was unseasoned. If you had handed me this and told me this was Asian food I wouldn't believeyou. It was very disappointing, especially considering that Hoja is associated with Sushiya. Read more

I love this place. I would say best ramen in the town. The eggs are extra $1, but it is okay. The inside of egg was not warm... enough but it was still very good. Read more
