Favorite coffee shop in Iowa City, excellent drinks, snacks and service! Love the Green Caffine selections.

Their Tiramisu is amazing. My fiance's favorite dessert in the world is in this small town coffee shop... literally. She's been... all over the world and nothing compares to it for her. Their coffee is solid as well. Its where a lot of U of I students meetup and study. Read more

Much freindlier staff than a they had a few months ago, very clean, great tasting food and beverages. It is at coffee shop... prices but coffee shops have price points and they are competitive with starbucks and caribou Read more

Coffee roasts are very consistent and quite good. Do not recommend their food on the whole. Most times when I stop in I get... the feeling that the workers are deeply and legitimately annoyed that I came in to buy something. Read more

Good coffee and good breakfast sandwiches, with a comfortable seating area inside. It's a great breakfast stop if you're in the... area. Read more

Came by here early in the morning right at opening to get some work done before the day started. I decided I would treat myself... to a nice coffee and breakfast while I was here. Parking: This Java House is in a small shopping center, so there was ampleparking. Ambiance: I liked the ambiance of the place. Lots of wood, so it felt natural. There was ample lighting and plenty ofseating with outlets for me to get some work done. There are signs that say 1 hour seating, but it was not busy that early andthey did not enforce it at the time. I am not sure if they would enforce it if it ever got that busy. Food and drink: Forcoffee, I got the Mexican Chocolate Cold Brew with Sweet Cream. For food, I got the Spicy Southwest with chorizo and substitutedthe English muffin for croissant, which they were more than happy to do. Both came out in a timely manner. The Mexican ChocolateCold Brew was delicious and refreshing, but it does have a spiced kick to it for those who are not into that. The SpicySouthwest was not too spicy though, so feel free to order it if it piques your interest. It was still warm, had a delicioussauce to it, and I had to consciously tell myself to eat it slowly or I would have scarfed it down otherwise. Service:Incredibly friendly staff. Made small talk with one of the baristas about the gaggle of geese that were right outside thewindow. A hundred percent would come back! I am craving the Spicy Southwest as I write this! Read more

Java house-Heirloom used to be my favorite coffee house in Iowa City. I've been a loyal customer for 7 years-- but I will not... come here again. I got disappointed with services they provide as time goes by. I could tell they reduce the portion of the sizeand asking for more money. They are not used to like this in the past. The image I attached: cup of soup was $4.44. I mean Iwould be okay if the portion size was big enough to pay that amount of money. It used to be black color cup with bigger portion.Every friends of mine saying that they're recently more focused on making money rather than providing good services. Inaddition, I used to use an java house application on my phone and sometimes they gave a promotion, but they no longer useapplication and changed the transaction system ridiculously. I'm not a big fan of java house anymore. I would rather go toStarbucks these days. I was a big fan of java such a long time and it was a big disappointment! Shame on you! Please go back tobasic java-heirloom!! Read more
