An incredible local seafood spot! A must try. I like Clam Box better than some other local competitors. Fresh always, and they... change their oil daily! Plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, but I prefer outdoor seating at the picnic tables under thecanopies. Not cheap but reasonable price point. My husband and I had been to the iconic Clam Box years ago and enjoyed it, so on a recent drive to Maine we decided to make a... side trip to Ipswich, MA. Everything was as we remembered -- except for the prices, inflation be damned. We had a tough timedeciding what we wanted. My husband wanted scallops but was concerned as they were quite expensive. We chose to share thetwo-way combo with clam strips and scallops. The scallops were sweet and succulent, expertly fried to perfection. The clamstrips were tasty; the tartar sauce their perfect complement. The serving was more than plenty for the two of us to share. Wewound up with leftovers. Helpful hint: bring a plastic sandwich bag or small plastic container with you. The Clam Box employeeI asked did not have a box for leftovers. I look forward to visiting again. Read more
Fisherman's platter is 42 dollars . But it feeds two people easily. Very good .Also the chower is thick and lots of clams !
Passable clam belly and calamari. The clam box in Quincy is miles better. They are larger and more flavorful. Here the clams are... quarter to half the size of the one in Quincy. The scallops, however, are very good. Read more
I?ve been coming here for years and years and years. I look forward to it whenever I travel to the area, and it never, ever... disappoints. As I?m eating, I wish I could stay hungry so I can eat more. The prices have gone way up due to food costs, and Istill couldn?t give them my money fast enough. The clam chowder is among the best you?ll ever have. The fried clams are fromanother world they are so good. The restaurant itself lacks any pretentiousness, and I just wish I had a place like this closeto where I lived. I?d get my mail there I?d be there so often. Read more
