I was very much looking forward to coming in to this restaurant based on the reviews and sadly I was super disappointed by the... service. The food I did have was really good. The mussels were amazing and the pulled pork was different in a unique way but Ienjoyed it. The service was so un-delightful that I cut my visit short and asked the server to have the food made to-go so thatI could leave. I wanted to try one of the desserts because the options all looked amazing, but I was so ready to go that I didnot. I believe my server's name was Seth. I wouldn't know because he never introduced himself nor did he greet me. The hostmentioned his name when she sat me. His greeting was setting down a glass of water and immediately asking me if he could get meanything else to drink. Very dry. No personality. Very un-welcoming. When he brought my appetizer, the mussels, he placed themon the table with no words. I'm used to a server saying something along the lines "Alright I got your mussels. How are theylooking? Can I get you anything else? Alright, enjoy." I got nothing. I actually would've maybe liked some hotsauce anddefinitely a side plate or bowl for my shells since the mussels are served in so much broth. During the whole time it took me toeat the mussels which was slow because I was going to ask him for the things mentioned above but he never came to check on me. Itried to get his attention a few times and he never looked twice in my direction. Also, it was not even close to busy at thispoint. When I first walked in, sure I'll give some grace there. This was also already after once I was seated, both serverswalked past me about 4 times each and never said a word so I wasn't even sure which one was Seth initially. But again, it wasbusy as in customers wanting to check out so I didn't think too much of it. Spiro's was no disappointment I thought the food was delicious. The service was great too.
It's a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are absolutely friendly and courteous. It was a fun evening. Enjoyed the ambience and... the food served. I ordered the Black and Blue Burger. I was delighted with the meal but my burger was dry. The bread could havebeen buttered or a little more sauce could be added. All in all my boys enjoyed their kids meal. I don't do rates often but I had to for this place. It was actually my boyfriends idea to try a new place and he chose Spiro's.... We weren't disappointed at all. The food was amazing. Was hoping for bougie but it wasn't. Atmosphere was bougie????, coffee was bougie????. Food was subpar. I was really hoping it... would be fantastic but wasn't. Burger was cooked perfectly ???? but taste wasn't anything spectacular. ???? I would give itanother chance but if other options aren't bougie enough, it would be sad. ???? The outdoor seating is very nice. The printed and online menu need to be updated to remove items no longer available. The... stuffed mushrooms were supposed to have pickled jalapenos, but they were VERY hot and detracted from the other flavors. Theservice was good and the rest of the meal was delicious.
