Don't you love stumbling onto an unexpected gem? Bacchus is a terrific venue for drinks, dinner and music. We came to hear the... band, sat at the bar and only had drinks, but immediately wished we'd come for dinner after seeing some mouthwatering plates.Our bartender had crafted an excellent cocktail menu, and I settled on the smokey mezcal old fashioned. The service was friendlyand professional, and the staff were obviously well trained. And the live band made a fun atmosphere. We will definitely returnand highly recommend Bacchus! Read more
It's my 3rd visit to this restaurant because my husband loves the band. I'll never step into this place again. My husband made a... reservation for three persons but there's no proper table for us when we reached the restaurant before 8pm. It took them a whileto come back to us and seat us at the bar table near the entrance. I felt uncomfortable and clarified with the server if anyonewould sit beside me. He confirmed with a 'no'. A short while later, one man came in with a woman and approached me whether theycould sit beside us. I directed them to the server. The server seated them at another bar table. Later a group of 4 women walkedin and immediately walked to the seat beside my son and myself. They asked me to remove my purse from the seat and satthemselves beside us - their arms almost touching me and my son. By now, I am extremely uncomfortable with the closeness andloudness of the women. I went up to the server and asked about social distancing practice. He said there is 'no'. I decided toleave. This place seems to attract customers I don't feel comfortable with and the restaurant staff aren't doing their job tohonor our reservation. Read more

This place has amazing food! The brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious. My Chilean sea bass and my boyfriend's prime filet... were both Amazing. The chef is truly a flavor artist! Bacchus is a hidden gem in Irvine. I thought the main focus of the restaurant would be on wine and spirits, however, it ended up... being on the cuisine. The dinner that we had at Bacchus was one of the best I have had in awhile. Everything was cooked toperfection and the market fish was clearly the highlight of the evening. I recommend getting the pork belly lollipops - oh my!!Plus, the charcuterie tray. The meats were incredible + when paired with freshly backed (and warm) bread...pure perfection! Read more
