Would be great if they offered premium ingredients. The beef quality was a little below average on a 1-10 scale for the beef the... beef is a 4. They don?t use high quality prime beef for their stew and their stew tastes mushy like it was just boiled. Would benice to find a curry house that offers prime beef or Wagyu grade that was cooked in pressure cooker. Rice grade quality alsoaverage or a little below average as well. Would be nice if they offered prime beef or Wagyu beef for those that want the goodbeef and he regular cheap one for those that just want cheap beef with curry and rice. Easy to find in Japan but not inCalifornia. Read more

Good Japanese Curry restaurant. I ordered Pork cutlet curry, Pork Ommelete curry and Chicket Ommelete curry. All good. The... regular portion is big. For a big guy like me. The mild and regular spiciness is not spicy at all Read more

The food was good, tasty, and full of spices. The thing I love about their food is that you can specify how spicy you want your... food to be, I chose level 6 and it made the food even better than its regular-level. However, somehow I both liked and did notlike the chicken cutlet, I liked how crispy it was, and the smell of chicken was not present because of the chicken beingwell-seasoned, however, I did not like the taste of the cutlet because it was tasteless, not spicy, not salty, nothing at all!It had a neutral taste. Well, I finally made it out to Coco Ichibanya. After dining at the venue in Japan, i was anxious to try our locale. Parking... was a bit challenging, as there were many establishments sharing the same lot. We arrived early and seating was quick. Thestaff were friendly. Make sure your whole party is present to get your table. The restaurant feels spacious for it's smallishsize. Everything was very clean and organized. The menu had many wonderful offerings, and I decided on the Minced Meat Cutlet.I was in the mood for curry, and I was not disappointed. The server laid out a large beautiful plate with a generous portion. The meal smelled wonderful and was delicious. The curry was crisp and the curry flavorful. Great food, friendly professionalstaff... I'll be back soon! Read more

My fiance and I love this place! We usually get level 7 or 8 and their spice is no joke! It tastes wonderful! Make sure and... try to do the wait-list on Yelp ahead of time. It can get kind of long. Read more

The food, though slightly different from their original in Japan, was still good. Prices are reasonable. The waiting time to be... seated was excruciatingly long, but once we were seated, service was quick. However, I did not enjoy the place itself. It wasincredibly noisy. I am aware that customers' voice volume cannot be controlled, but the background music was also way too loud.It was hard to even hear what our waitress was saying, and I couldn't talk to the people I was eating with. I don't think I'llbe eating there again unless it's takeout. Read more

Fantastic! Extremely faithful to the original Japanese recipe. A few specific items on the Japanese menus are missing, such as... dried garlic flake topping, and the cheese isn't Japanese style, but it was very close. Even had the same pickled veggies. Wasso excited to come. Will be back every time I'm in Orange County. Read more

Been looking for places to have decent Japanese curry since Curry House shut down more than two years ago. This place is pretty... close. Unfortunately they ran out of menchi katsu, which is a favorite of my son and I. Anyway, we had the keema curry, chickenkatsu omelette, pork katsu omelette, omelet with dumplings and naan with keema curry. They were all good. The naan was verygood. The best I?ve had. The dumplings were also super tasty. I wish they would put tobasco sauce on the table like Curry Houseused to as it compliments Japanese curry very well. The watermelon juice was ok and the Thai iced tea was good. They did notoffer curry pan. Read more
