I would have scored this bagel joint a five if they could maintain the outer crispiness that New York bagels have. However their... pizza bagel is quite good and so are the other varieties of non-traditional flavors such as cheese and jalapeños. In themornings there is usually a line. It's rare to find a place where you can eat a bagel without any spread or toppings and the experience would still be... satisfying. The bagels here are fresh, tasty, and moist. I always enjoy the lox and bagel, the way they prepare it is perfectand has a good balance between the bagel and the filling. Most importantly they don't skimp on the lox which a lot of places do.There is always a line but it's worth the wait since everything is fresh. Read more
I can see why this place is so popular. The wait was insane but it?s worth it. I got the lox bagel. The bagel would?ve tasted... amazing by itself already but coupled with lox, jalapeño cream and capers? it was heaven. Bagel with pastrami or salmon was a bit more than 7 USD. They don't have prices on the menu. Bagel tastes very good but the wait... on Saturday was a bit long. Would recommend to go there but they seem a bit understaffed . Read more
Like a reviewer said- a bagel is just a bagel, and for me its not worth it. Im happy that others support this place so much... since we need to support local Irvine businesses. So i put 4 stars, I dont want to give a bad rating. However, the wait is toolong (all the time) like 30-40 mins just to get a simple bagel with cream cheese & orange juice. You wait in a line to order,then you also wait again to get the bagel... They need to have a better process in place to make order pickup at least quickeronce you place it with cashier. I thought these would be super gourmet bagels or something with all the waiting going on and soi decided to try it out one day... Nope! Just regular cafe bagels. Lol, still good, but nothing crazy. basically bagle is bagle. what makes better bagel is not something special but just delivering what everybody expects well in a... consistent manner, and east coast bagel does that. totally recommend this place. alsi, a person who receives the orders isvery friendly and i like the vibe he gives. it makes my weekend morning. I have been going here for over 5 years now, me and my wife love this place for a weekend morning breakfast. They are really... busy on weekend mornings. My two favorite bagels here are the scored garlic bagel with jalapeño spread and cheesy jalapeñobagel with garlic and herb spread. Recently I tried spicy deluxe bagel and it was awesome too.
