dinned at IL FORNAIO Irvine 10/15/2000. I returned here for the first time after the COVID pandemic. My experience was abysmal.... I've managed restaurants in my early years, and Because of that, I am always obligated to cut servers much slack. It is adifficult job, and, as a waiter, you cannot control every element of the dining experience, even though you are the face of thedining experience. So I usually don't complain about service unless it is horrible. And this was. After botching every possibleaspect of our meal, I voiced my opinion to the manager. The manager came over and offered NOTHING to me and my family, when wehad spent over $ 200 for four people. He had no concerns about my bad experience. It occurred to me that I didn't know what Iwanted from talking to the manager, probably an apology from the waiter or the manager. Ideally, a do-over on the wholemeal. Our waiter was not concerned on the service he was giving and was gone for long periods of the dining experience. Food wasaverage at best, and nobody seemed to care. So when looking for our server to get our bill he was missing, I asked the serverwho was attending to the following table to get out waiter, he said "that's not my responsibility to find him" I was so takenaback and shocked I didn't know how to respond. I know every company, organization, and person is using the pandemic as anexcuse, and I understand some of the challenges. However, if you need customers to spend their hard-earned money at yourestablishment, you must care. Read more

Best pasta in town! Prices are reasonable and food is AMAZING. Our server was super nice and kind, the bread basket with butter... and balsamic/olive oil mix was really good. The bread tasted and felt freshly made. Would recommend going here! Read more

Came for a birthday party in one of their private rooms. Definitely recommend their private rooms if you have a group. The rooms... are at the back of the restaurant, behind the kitchen with a view of the pond. It was warm when we got there so maybe plan for acooler season. Food was a preselected buffet of pizza and pasta. It was good. Highly recommend their cannolis. Read more

Staffs are very kind, nice interior and exterior. However, sea food in spaghetti was not fresh.

First time trying this place since we found out today that Canaletto in Newport Beach has closed permanently, and we believe... they are part of the same group. Beyond exceeded expectations. The ambiance was very relaxing, the staff was wonderful, and thefood was delicious. Read more
