Black Sesame was the closest place to the hotel I am staying at where a person could get their fix for Korean ramen. While the... inside of the restaurant itself isn't certainly anything to write home about, the food more than makes up for the lack ofambiance easily making finds like thjs the best part of venturing out for new places to try. A group of my friends and I weregreeted with very warm and friendly service. The menu is varied, containing sushi, ramen, and even some Chinese dishes. I wentwith a classic Korean ramen with seafood and requested extra spicy. I also ordered a side of kimchi because any good Koreanplace can be measured only by how good the kimchi, ramen, or bibimbap is. The kimchi was a definite homerun, with a pleasantlevel of acidity and spice from the fermentation. The seafood in the ramen was not only a very generous portion and containedshrimp, clams, and calamari. I also give my regards to the chef for accommodating the level of spice I wanted because I preferKorean ramen super spicy and not only did the broth have a great flavor, it also had a very nice kick of heat. My friends seemedto also enjoy their food as well with them ordering ramen, kimchi fried rice, lo mein, edamame, goyza potstickers, and even abento box. The only small downfall was the restaurant was out of tapioca pearls for boba but nothing I can't solve by investinginto my own factory to supply the world with much needed tapioca pearls. Overall the experience was excellent and prices weregenerous! My meal totaled about $22 which isn't bad considering the portions are massive! The orange chicken actually had slices of orange in them. The food was freshly prepared, served hit and with a smile. I must... say that the chicken meat could have been fresher, but the taste was nearly perfect except for two or three of the pieces. Theirserving size is not as generous (or as fresh and high quality) as Taste of Asia, my favorite place to eat orange chicken, butwith a little improvement, they can certainly compete with T of A. Amazing Korean ramen. The flavors are bursting through! The veggie dumplings fillings is ok but the outside of the dumpling is... crispy. The kimchi is perfect. My friend loved her Beef bone broth ramen. & they also gave quite a bit of shrimp when we addedthe "extra shrimp" option. So its worth it. Side note. This place deserves the 5 star rating because of how hard these womenwork to keep up with the insane lunch rush. This business is owned & run by women. & they do such an amazing job. As busy asthey were, our orders were perfect down to the presentation of our dish. We will definitely come back & try more dishes. Read more
