I have been a patron of Mima for a number of years dining there a couple of times a month . For the most part visits with my... wife have been quite enjoyable. Friendly atmosphere nice staff good food and wine. I wish I could say that about my visit thispast Friday. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a hostess that I have never seen there before. She was rude from the get go. Although the restaurant was 80% empty at about 6:00 we were advised that the all tables were reserved and if we wanted to dinewe would have to sit outdoors. She said there was a party in the back so seating was limited. The weather was not too bad atthat point so we stayed. After dining for about 2 hours with the weather getting cooler we decided to leave. At this point therestaurant was still more than half empty. I mentioned this to the hostess who again rudely advised me that people had calledabout their lateness and would be arriving. Two hours later! My wife then approached the manager who again rudely explainedthat he was too busy with the party in the back. Now I understand if you have a party and reservations you need to make do withwhatever is available. However when your restaurant is still 60% empty upon our departure they could have at least given us theoption of having to be out at a certain time instead of resorting to the street. Also upon complaining to the management theycould have at least apologized and maybe offered us a drink at the bar instead of being rude, and telling us he was busy withthe party, as if regular customers don't matter. It's a shame and disappointing since it is a restaurant we like to frequentand now will have a difficult time in going back. I have told this story to a number of friends who dine out frequently andwere all very surprised by this attitude. Spreading bad news is never good for business. Party or no party. Read more

This place is extremely overpriced for the food they serve. I celebrated my friend's birthday there on a Tuesday and ordered the... Pasta Nera and it was terrible it was cold the clams were nonexistent and the pasta over cooked. My husband had chicken cutletthat was paper thin and Blan it looks as if the food is frozen definitely not fresh the other plates served to our friends wereextremely small for the cost definitely not what you expect going to an Italian restaurant. It was our first time there andlast. They didn't even give my friend her tartufo on the house for her birthday after we spent $400 with tip for terrible food.The waiter was very nice that's why I gave this place 2 stars and not 1 which it honestly deserves. One word: WOW! The food is Italian at its finest. Really tasty, hearty, and heavy. Fried, truffle, and buttery goodness all... around. Walked into Mimas on Halloween for a spontaneous anniversary dinner with my beautiful bride of 29 years. They were packed,... reservations only. Owner said, wait, let me see what I can do. 3 minutes later we were sitting ordering drinks and apps. Thefood was phenomenal, the staff was courteous and attentive, the atmosphere was hopping, and the wine selection is amazing. If Icould give them 20 stars I would.
