Tried their lamb ribs. The meat wasn't tender, but the brussel sprouts tasted nice. Ambience was decent.

Lovely service. Mediocre-poor drinks, depending on what you order. Abysmal food. Just bad. Disgusting salads. You’re literally... a stones throw away from a million places that sell delicious food. Don’t waste your money on a really bad hotel restaurantjust because it happens to have a prime spot on the Commons. Read more

I would give this place less stars if I could. If the weather wasn’t so nice tonight this would’ve been complaint after... complaint. The food is terrible. Don’t get anything with pasta. Don’t get the anti flatbread. The server was upset becausemy date didn’t like one of the drinks. This should never elicit an emotional reaction. We pay for the experience. Please dobetter! Read more

My Husband and I visited his daughter in Ithaca, NY this past weekend. We ate outside at Monks at the Marriott Hotel the first... night. The food was Fantastic and our waitress, Nastasha could not have been more friendly, attentive, or efficient. I had theChicken Saltimbocca over Linguine with mushroom sauce. It was to die for. My husband had the Salmon and our daughter, a largedinner salad with strawberries, both superb. Everything was so perfect that we ate there the second night too (although weneeded the heaters turned on that time). It is a hidden gem, as it doesn't seem that they advertise enough. We cannot recommendMonks highly enough, even though there are many excellent choices of restaurants in Ithaca. Read more

Good food, mediocre service. Five of us stopped for dinner and sat outside. Table was set for four so they brought and extra... chair. We had to ask for a fifth place setting and waitress brought a plate. We had to ask again for flatware. Waitress tookdrink order and when returned with drinks asked if we were ready to order. We pointed out that she had not given us menus. Itwent on like this throughout our meal and our orders were very simple. Apparently, on the menu somewhere, it says that partiesof five and more will have a 20% gratuity added to the bill. I did not see this but the waitress stated this fact when shepresented the check. I am a good tipper and often tip 25%. This service was not even close to 15%. If there are five or more ofyou just be aware of this. Beware would be a better term. Read more

This review is about the bartender at Monk’s, Orlando, who was rude to the bride after her own wedding. The majority of our... wedding guests stayed at this hotel. While the stay was fine, we had a really bad experience when we arrived back at the hotelaround 11:30 pm. We were told we could continue the party at the hotel bar at Monk’s, however the bartender, Orlando, refusedto serve one person and one person only, the bride! He said that she was visibly intoxicated, which she most certainly was not -evidenced by us all continuing across the street for the next few hours and getting home safe and sound. We are in our late30’s, not college kids. We all tried to tell him calmly that what he might have thought was slurred speech was actually aforeign accent, but he refused to engage and was rude to the woman who was standing there in her wedding dress. No apology, nokindness, just a snarky look as he flexed his power to refuse service to the person who deserved all of those things on thatday. The rest of the patrons, including an off-duty Monk’s bartender, followed us across the street and brought theirbusiness to another bar. They even told us that this particular bartender has a history of picking on one guest and refusingthem service. I understand looking out for people’s safety, but to do so to a bride on her wedding night because she has anaccent, and refusing to change his mind because of his pride is just unacceptable. We let the hotel know and they said somebodywould be reaching out to apologize. That never happened. Very disappointed in the Marriott. If you get a drink at Monk’s, andit wasn’t your first, or you speak with a foreign accent, make sure to avoid Orlando as your bartender, or else you may bedisrespected publicly. p.s. I highly suggest the Ithaca Ale House right across the street. The service was great! Read more

Food was five star worthy, but service brought the overall experience down to four. They were kind enough to let us sit down for... a quick meal after they had already stopped seating new customers, but then took quite a long time to take our orders. Read more
