Great food, wonderful service, beautiful venue. Ignore the 2 pages of "please read" instructions. Everyone in our party of 8... was totally satisfied. The appetizers- Mac & cheese, pork belly, and dumplings - we're all perfect. The salmon was cookedperfectly on a delicious sauce and topped with pickled vegs that made the dish. The jerked chicken was enjoyed by others in ourgroup. So happy that Chef KC has found a new home! Read more
Exceptional. If you haven't eaten here, do it. For apps, our favorites are the sweet potato dumplings, lobster mac and pork... belly. For main course, we love the Wagwan pepper steak, Jerk up the skirt steak, pork loin or shrimp and grits (they are allkiller, but I don't believe there is a bad choice on the menu). This place is truly fantastic all the way around. I had my birthday dinner here and the food was absolutely delicious. One of... the best meals ever. The service was excellent. Food came in a timely manner and delivered with a smile! Everyone in thisplace was so friendly. I loved the fact that my dogs were welcome. Bistro 49 is a family! As soon as you walk in wait staff immedatly seat you(if room is avaiable, they are famous around these... parts) take your drink order and constantly check in to see if you need anything! Prices are normal and food is worth more moneyhonestly they could seriously be charging more and Id still eat there as often as I do. The chefs come out of the open conceptkitchen and greet you and joke around! Moral of the review, just go! Stop reading and just go???? Well, unfortunately, I must rate this local restaurant exceptionally low. The building and location is beautiful, the food... looked moderately decent, but since the service was atrocious we didn't stay for a meal. We arrived 5 minutes before ourreservation and we were told we had to wait. So we waited next to the cash register, and at exactly 6pm (which was ourreservation time) a line started to form. We didn't think much about it since we had already checked in, but then people beganto be seated before us, even though we waited. When we asked about our reservation, we were told we had to wait in line. So wewaited, AGAIN. Finally we were seated, and proceeded to wait another 30 minutes before being served water, but no menu. After 50MINUTES, we started to get up to leave when the wait staff came around with a menu, at which point we said we were leaving. So,we were passed over for our reservation, waited nearly an hour before being offered a menu, and then left. As I said,unfortunately, it was a horrible experience and we have no plans to return.
