Reviews for The Blacksmith Restaurant in Jackson, TN
My friend and I had dinner before attending the performance at the Ned which is nearby. I had made reservations because I... anticipated that the Blacksmith would be busy on a Saturday night. We were greeted and seated immediately at what has become our'regular' table. We had just a few minutes to settle in when William, our server, came to our table. Service at the Blacksmithis always great but William brought game! He was fun, so nice and I have to say, William is a fired up salesman. He made severalgreat suggestions, all very tempting, but we had the chicken salads with a raspberry dressing. My friend wanted a dessert andshe got the cheesecake with blueberries. It was a generous serving! We shared it and it was very good. I was in the mood for acocktail but hesitant. William suggested several great sounding cocktails and then he made the 'Black and White Martini'. Icouldn't resist and I'm glad that I got it. William decorated it with a chocolate heart design and it looked wonderful. It wasso impressive that a man at a nearby table asked about it. It was so good, I could have enjoyed a gallon of it. Oh wow, ittasted as great as it looked! An excellent dessert cocktail. William really made our night fun. He was so funny. As a formerserver, I truly appreciated the great service and top caliber personality that William enhanced our evening with, veryspecial. The Blacksmith is my favorite place in town, great food, excellent menu choices and always good service. Read more
My drink, pretzel, and beer cheese deserve 5 stars. The waitress, steak, and prices get 2. Does your cooks even know what medium... rare means? Apparently not that day. 4 times they couldn't get it right. Try some seasoning every now and then. Columbus foundsome, so can your cooks. Even the herbed butter had no flavor and definitely no salt. After I paid $150.00 for 4 people and 2 ofus only had one drink? No thanks and never again. Read more
This whole experience was long and tedious. Despite the best efforts of an awesome manager, I still don’t know if I’ll go... back. Pretty sure the final straw was this waiter keeping his receipt book in his belt (touching his underwear). The food wasvery very good, especially the pretzel. If you have 2 hours, give this place a shot for the food alone. Be prepared to wait anddeal with staff that would prefer to sort menus than seat you. Read more
Our first visit here exceeded all expectations! Literally everything we tried blew our minds. The staff was friendly and... knowledgeable when we entered and asked for recommendations; the restaurant was clean everywhere we looked. We had the FiletMignon, charred arugula salad, the pork tenderloin, filet crostini appetizer (which disappeared before I could even think aboutgetting a picture!), taco soup, carrot cake, Bloody Mary and the Foundry. Both portions of filet were cooked perfectly, thebloody Mary wasn't too salty, the Foundry wasn't too sweet; everything was in stunning balance. What left me in awe though wasthe pork tenderloin. It was juicy, soft, and had SO much flavor! I was in shock at just how good it was, particularly as arather picky pork eater. The carrot cake was fresh, moist, and again, balanced in a way that wasn't terribly sweet and I couldstill taste all the other ingredients. We WILL be back. We finally have a new date night place 2 years after moving to this sideof the state! A huge thank you to all staff. We're in love! Read more
Went here for the first time and we will absolutely be back. The food was extra large proportions, and everything was perfect.... The prices were what you would expect for the caliber of food quality, portions, and location. The service quality matched theprice as well. We were alone in the outdoor patio, but the service far exceeded expectations. If you look at their menu online, the pictures are EXACTLY what you can expect, except expect it to be super-sized. I honestly can't come up with a single issuewith our evening at Blacksmiths. Even with it being a chilly January night, we were so cozy on the outdoor patio with theheating. If you love seasoned potato wedges, definitely get an order of the smithy fries! Those could have been enough to make ameal for 2 out of alone. And the burger was HUGE but fully cooked throughout, which is a feat in itself. And the mac and cheesewas AMAZING as long as you love thick gooey real cheese and not that powder stuff from kraft mac and cheese. The shrimp on thepo boy was cooked to perfection. And don't even get me started on the Crucible drink.. It's one of those drinks that you canoverdo it on because it's like a cold glass of chocolate milk. You'll mess up and forget about the alcohol. I was mildlysurprised at the bill, for the 3 course meals (we got 2), drinks, and cocktail, I expected it to be higher than it actually was.All in all, expect fine dining quality food, service, with 2 or 3 portion sized plates, shareable appetizers, but down homesouthern style food, and relaxing atmosphere, with mid-line restaurant prices. This is NOT a fast food type of experience. Read more
The Blacksmith Restaurant is a small restaurant and bar with a great atmosphere and delectable food offerings. My coworker and... I went to this restaurant 12/20/21 and sat in the bar area. We were immediately greeted by one of the most attentive, wellrounded, and positive servers I have ever met. A very special thanks to Daniel. Our dining experience would not have been thesame without him. We started off with the Jonny Cake appetizer that is like eating a mix of cornbread and butter yellow recipecake mix, for any that have not had it. It was wonderfully made and so YUM! For dinner I ordered the Ribeye, medium rare, withmushroom and onion toppers, a loaded baked potato and a side salad. The Ribeye was done to perfection and the loaded bakedpotato left nothing to be desired. The salad was well timed and a perfectly balanced blend of greens, onions, tomatoes, andcroutons. My coworker ordered the Blacksmith's Forged Pasta. A simple but delicious masterpiece of a perfectly spiced Alfredosauce, bow tie pasta, and your choice of meats. The Texas toast garlic bread was a nice topper to the dish as well. Wefinished the night off with what has to be the best carrot cake I have ever had. I would like to clarify by saying that carrotcake is my go to cake and I never miss an opportunity to try a slice. This definitely met all the criteria to be sighted as theGOAT! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone local or traveling. It was well worth the visit. Read more
Overall a good place to eat. The pickle sticks were good but the spicy cajun chicken sandwich had no spicy component but had... good flavor. I had the forge burger which was excellent! Thick, juicy, great grilled flavor. Service was slow unfortunately andour server did not check on us frequently enough. We will return another time for the burgers. Read more
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, good food. I ordered the burger medium well/well and it was perfect. The fries could stand... to be better seasoned, but the house ranch was on point for dipping. It was a Friday night, so the live music on the patio waslovely. Read more
