What a wonderful experience. We have been wanting to dine here for some time and have heard great reviews. We finally made in a... couple of weeks ago and were not disappointed. The service was first rate, the food delicious, wine selection extraordinary andatmosphere perfect. Everyone was lovely and the best part was that we were not rushed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I love this little spot in Murray Hill! The food is divine and the service is incredible. Do not come here if you are in a hurry... or in a rush! Some of the pastas are made in house and all the food is made to order so it is not a ?quick dinner?. It?s a greatspot to spend the evening enjoying wine and delicious food. I got the escargot and the bolognese and both were incredible andour waiter took very good care of us. I will definitely be returning soon. Read more
We stopped on a whim without a reservation and they were able to get us in. We were intrigued at first because the menu seems to... lay out lots of "rules". We thought it may be another overpriced mediocre experience, but were pleasantly surprised! This seemsto be a hidden gem where the owners/chef care highly about the menu, the quality of the Italian dishes and wine list, andmaintaining the ambience. To sum it up, they know what they're working with! I asked the server to help me choose a wine and apasta dish and she was extremely knowledgeable and nailed exactly what I was looking for. The portions are huge. This feels likea restaurant where they get to know you by name. They seem to maintain very high standards, which I can definitely appreciateand don't mind paying for. My ?fav? restaurant for a number of reasons. The food is great, the portions unbelievable, the staff awesome and the atmosphere... laid back and private We enjoy our dinners there. My husband and I came here for a date night yesterday evening. We had a really good dining experience. We read the website... before coming- I highly recommend doing that so you know what to expect. I finally had the pleasure of dining here for our 5 year anniversary and it was exceptional. You must have reservations and it... is an adult only establishment, thus making it the ideal place for an intimate dining experience with your significant other. Westarted off with a bottle of prosecco to toast to 'us' since they have an extensive wine list and cellar. They have baked inhouse bread sticks to nosh on while you look over the menu. It took us some time to decide as everything sounded incredible, andtheir staff is more than happy to help by explaining the dishes and the many options you have. They make 3 different pastas inhouse and bake fresh bread that arrives once you have made your selections. We chose to have our pasta dishes as appetizerportions which the Chef recommends come out first. To say they were decadent is an understatement. These portions are verygenerous and as such we decided to only eat half in order to have room for the rest of what was to come. The next to arrive werethe salads which accompany the mains and you can select the mixed greens with vinaigrette or from their other offerings. Wechose to have the fresh spring mix. For the grand finale I decided on the veal for and my beau had the chicken, both prepared ina lemon sauce. It was perfection. Both plates had 3 pieces and we each brought 2 home with us along with the other half of ourpasta. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert, but we had enough food for another meal which tasted just as fantastic whenreheated with care. We've been to Italian restaurants a number of times, but this is the first time we've dined here. The restaurant owner(Jerry)... guided us to the table and explained all the different options for us. Since we are Asian, we don't know much about Italianfood. Recommending us Linguine with Fresh Clams & Red Sauce was the best. The calms were real fresh clams. . Many Italianrestaurants left us disappointed. La Cena Ristorante was our favorite when it comes to Italian Cuisine. I run Kim's KoreaenBBQ restaurant, so I felt it was a good experience dining out and learning from another owners perspective.
