UPDATED - Response to Chris Kar: We really appreciate the thoughtful response and your points are completely valid, but we are... not going to take the review down at this time. Unfortunately, the businesses are still very linked; folks who are planning anevent or wedding come here for reviews, and there are many other wedding and event-related reviews still here from past years. Also, as you mentioned, Matt is still financially invested in The Dimon Estate. I think it's fair for potential diners to knowthe character of the person who their money is benefitting. This review is not about the quality of the food or cooking, whichwe know is very good. We obviously still welcome you or Matt to reach out in a non-public forum to properly address thesituation at any time. Original Review: The short version is that we booked Jamesport Manor Inn/Dimon Estate/ChristopherMichael Catering for our wedding in 2022, but they were disorganized, then incredibly rude and greedy, and ultimately cancelledeverything on us a few months before our wedding date, with no reasonable explanation, apology, or compensation. People whotreat customers this way do not deserve your business. Here’s the story: we booked Jamesport Manor/Dimon Estate in June 2021and were so excited to get married there. Fast forward to May 2022 and a sound ordinance was passed in the town of Riverheadthat made it very difficult for them to host events. This led them to cancel the venue for all couples in summer 2022– butthey promised to still cater at a discounted rate and provide rentals, as well as help everyone find new venues. We rebooked anew venue that they suggested and proceeded as planned. Then, they canceled everything else (catering, rentals, bathrooms, etc)on us a few weeks later. The excuse was that a chef quit, so they did not have enough staff. But catering and rentals were notcancelled for any other couples (I know because I joined a FB group with many of the other affected brides), and w Read more

I LOVED my time here. I sat at the bar with my partner and the bartender Emily was so knowledgeable and sweet. Ask her about the... history of the estate! Super fun experience and the chef was so nice also! The duck appetizer was INCREDIBLE. The hostess andstaff was all so sweet and personable. Such a great spot to celebrate or enjoy a drink. Outdoor area is super sweet too! Read more

You are correct. Your restaurant deserves a better rating than JFK, but not much, so I increased the rating from 2-stars to... three. Everything about my meal, except for the scallops, was below average. The Fluke was bland to the point of inedible. Thespecial sangria tasted like Tang. I could go on, but what would be the point since you obviously are more concerned with witthan good food. Read more

The menu is creative, considerate and artfully executed. The flavors sing independent notes and marry together to create a... beautiful melody. Highly recommend the grilled shrimp starter and the seafood pasta main— both dishes were trulyimpressive. Wine service and cocktails were fantastic. I love that the cocktail menu has little stories on it. It adds to thecharacter and charm of the estate and your experience. The service- from host to management to our server, Sandra- everyone wasso pleasant and lovely. It’s always so nice to eat where you can tell the staff not only are professional but are happy andproud of the establishment. It also says so much about a place when FOH speaks so highly about the dedication of BOH. They’reoperating with true teamwork at Dimon and it really impacts the guest experience— that takes hard work and determination notoften seen or felt by guests. The white chocolate Oreo cheesecake was such a treat- but not too sweet. And they sentcomplimentary local chocolate covered strawberries to the table too, a generous and appreciated note. I’ve already plannedexactly what I will order for when I return— and I cannot wait to have another magical meal besides the chef’s garden andfairy house on the perfectly shaded patio as the fireflies between to twinkle as the sun goes down. Thank you for such aspecial experience! Read more

The happy hour was great. We had the fried Brie and scallops on a cold noodle mango salad. My wife and I both had the Gruner... Veltliner wine which was delicious. I also had the Sea Witch cocktail. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The decor isso nice. Can’t wait to go back and try other items on their menu. Great start to the weekend. Read more

Had a wonderful dinner here with my parents. The atmosphere is fantastic and was enjoyed by all parties. Elegant yet... comfortable. Classic and cozy yet refreshingly airy and bright. We really enjoyed the beautiful grounds outside and artworkwhich lined the inside of the two-levels of dining. We interacted with maybe 4 or 5 members of staff and all were friendly, attentive, and comprehensive — delightful. Service really glided through our dinner seamlessly which was fantastic. Creativecocktails and an extensive wine list — our local white was served perfectly chilled. We ate a range of appetizers and entreesand were pleased on all accounts. Food was delicious, and presentation was on point. Gluten free and veg options as well whichwas appreciated. Overall, Dimon Estate delivered a fantastic dining experience which presented the best of what the North Forkculinary scene has become renowned for, free from any pretension. I’ll happily return and recommend to friends in the area.Cozy bar in the front looks like a great spot for a drink and bites as well, I imagine I’ll return there for lunch next. Read more
