Server never checked back to see if food was satisfactory or to offer drink refills. Meatball sandwich was dry and needed more... sauce or provolone cheese. Meatballs were flavorful and huge. Worse meal I've had at Madisons since I've lived here. My wife's chicken was cold, food had no seasoning. The walls had food... stains on them and our chairs felt like they were going to break while sitting on them. The decor is horrendous and needs to beupdated terribly bad. Place just looks old and dirty. Can the owner look anymore like a homeless person. Walks around in a daze,shirt tail out and just looks homeless. Again food had no seasoning, cold, and taste old. The restaurant was very busy and had a wait during lunchtime on a weekday, so that is a good sign. We had a drink at the bar... while we waited to be seated. Our server was absolutely the greatest. I special requested the salad to have spinach in place ofthe mixture that is typically used. She couldn't promise that they'd do it, but she made it happen! My group had the roastbeef sandwich, tortellini, and a huge salad. Every single thing we were served was flavorful and perfect. I'd encourage you tovisit this local Jefferson City restaurant. Fancy little place! Felt way under dressed, but if you?re wondering only the wait staff was dressed well on a Monday... evening! Good selection of drinks (Martinis and what not) and lots of pasta options! I?m not a huge pasta fan myself, but itwas tasty! Service was awesome. Usually, if I have a bad experience I will give it another shot so that is what I did and this will be a 2 part review. 1st... visit we came to celebrate our new home after a long move. Our kids are 6 & 11 and behave pretty well. We got seated fairlyquickly and then it took some time to get our drinks as it was a busy Friday night. We asked the waitress what she recommendedas an appetizer since it was our first visit and her generic answer of ?it?s all good? was the response. So we ordered thestuffed mushrooms and they were probably the best thing we got from this restaurant. Then we go to order food and here?s wherethings go south. She had already been very short with us which is frustrating as a customer in a nice establishment but thistopped the cake. My husband ordered, my son ordered and then I asked a couple questions which she was annoyed by and then Iordered. She literally says ?I need to go take an order over here? and walks off without taking my daughter?s order. So when wesee her 10 min later we said ?hey, you didn?t take her order.? She said ?Oh, sorry what does she want??. Starving hungry is theonly reason we didn?t just leave. So my daughters late ordered food comes out about ten minutes sooner than our food whichwasn?t a big deal. She forgot my salad before the dinner and when I mentioned it, she was annoyed AGAIN. At this point wethought the food better be out of this world to be in business with such poor service. We got our food and it was just verybland. It was presented well and looked good just lacked flavor. Forward to 2nd visit, I took my daughter to lunch. The waitress(a different one) was very pleasant and kind. She made sure our water was full and answered our questions politely. Our food wasbetter this time, I ordered the chicken jalapeño pasta and liked it but felt it was overpriced for the quality. We have went here many times but I haven?t went in awhile. The service was very good. My son had spaghetti and meatballs which... he said was very good. My wife had a small pasta plate with a salad. I had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Thepork chop was very well seasoned and very good. The potatoes were okay, nothing special. The asparagus was very soft and a bitmushy; I was not a fan. Before the meal, they serve bread which is excellent. The bread used to come with olive oil that youcould dip it in. Now the bread just comes with butter. I miss the olive oil touch. The meal was good but it could have beenbetter if the asparagus was cooked different and the bread was served with olive oil.
