We ordered cocktails from the bar and we're sitting in the large room with the fireplace. We had to go and get the drinks from... the bar, no service, had to pay first and also had to listen to some server/ bartender stories about recent wedding events whilewe waited. Not the flair that we envisioned when we decided to go there for drinks. The pricey cocktails were not worth themoney. Old dried garnish, no style, wrong drinkware used. Disappointing. But the clubhouse is great and just sitting therefeeling the old days was great. Read more

This review pertains to the "Grand" dining room. The service and food were anything but grand. Came for Suday breakfast, sadly... the brunch no longer exists. There were maybe 40 people seated before us, half of which were already eating. Service wasterrible, waitress was never around and had to ask others for coffee refills. Food was abhorrent. The "Jekyll potatoes" areclearly some frozen and reheated bulk home fries with some undercooked peppers amongst them. The "toast" was white bread with anoccasional tan line as it may have grazed against something warm but was essentially just floppy bread. Have been coming to theisland for 17 years, always enjoyed our food and especially the Sunday brunch at the JIC. Something has changed, and don't blameCovid, the excuse is tired and overused. Your food and service are a reflection of your leadership and ownership. The foundingfamilies would be sad to see what the once grand dining room has become.... a fast-food restaurant, except the food doesn'tarrive fast but it is of McDonald's quality. Read more

We went at 10am in the morning and though the place was about half full, it took us quite a while to be seated. We had some... friends who got seated before us, but never got menus, so they left again before we even got in. Once seated, the waitress letus know she saw us and would be with us in a little. By the time she came back, we were ready with our orders. I had grabbed outsome paper for the kids to draw and asked her if she had a couple pens we could borrow. She asked if it was for the kids becauseshe could go grab them some crayons. They were much happier with more colorful options. I thought that was so sweet of her. Wegot a couple omelets, eggs benedict, local berries, coffee, and pineapple juice. Everything was delicious. Bill came out toabout $70, I think. It was worth the wait, and the service and food were top notch once we got it. Read more

You definitely go to this place for the ambience of being in a 19th century dining room. The menu was very limited due to... COVID. The food was okay, nothing special though the cheese grits were amazing. Service was overall pretty good and the priceswere fair. Read more

Expensive food, but worth the price. Very friendly staff. Must be well dressed to dine. Great for a date or trying to impress a... girl. Amazing atmosphere and welcoming. Not the best place for small children, but not a bad place to bring them either. Amazingdesserts. Ran out of chocolate mousse for the sea turtle dessert, but the waiter was very accommodating and asked if chocolateice cream would work. It still tasted great. William was our server and he was very friendly and polite. Read more
