We treated our parents to an Anniversary dinner tonight. This was so wonderful! I called for reservations, preordered... everything for them with wonderful assistance in selecting the perfect combination for them. My husband and I are foodies who one time (okay, so really more than one time) drove 16 hours just for ice cream. When friends... suggested dinner at Gourmet and Company, my memories from eating there years ago were good ones, so we agreed. While this placedoesn't look like much from the outside - it is in a strip mall- it has a serene and elegant interior. It was a beautifulevening, so we opted to eat outside on the patio. Our server was excellent; he was attentive and very professional. Everythingon the menu sounded delicious and among the 4 of us we had a pretty good sampling - filets, salads, grilled salmon, and avegetarian pasta dish. The goat cheese salad was hands down the best salad I have ever had! My husband and I don't eat meat andwe agreed this meal was easily in our top 5 meatless meals since we went vegetarian over a year ago. For dessert, our party hadthe chocolate mousse cake, the caramelized banana bread, and the hand-held peach pie. This was a flawless meal and we all agreedwe would return soon. Read more
Dinner was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts. The duck... was perfect and the watermelon balsamic sorbet was to die for. This place was okay for a gourmet restaurant in a small town like JC, but I wouldn't go back if I had the choice. My parents... paid a lofty price for both their meals (veal and steak tomahawk) and they did not enjoy. The worst part was that we ended upbeing at the restaurant for 3 HOURS because of how long the wait was for both our appetizers and entrees. The atmosphere wasnice though as an upside to all of this. I came here for lunch with my aunts and sister for a girls afternoon and we had a great time. Our waiter was fantastic and we... stayed after lunch service ended without realizing it and the staff didn't say anything just let us continue talking. The menuisn't large so you know the food will be made excellently and the dessert I had was delicious. From the atmosphere to the foodto the staff to the company I dined with I had a wonderful time. New to the area and checking out spots to eat for lunch. Stopped in here cause I liked their menu for fresh and local... ingredients. I got a southwestern salad and truffle fries. MORE than enough for one person as seen in the photo. Lindsay was myserver and she did a terrific job. I highly recommend this location to support local businesses and good eats! Read more
This restaurant is definitely different from any other restaurants in the area. They created very intimate atmosphere, tables... are appropriately spaced out so you can't hear people next to you talking. Restaurant decor is beautiful, you can tell that theowner wanted to create an amazing experience for the customers. Even plates that they serve their food in are handmade, what aunique touch! A lady who was serving our table was very knowledgeable about food and provided a service that you can only get intop notch European restaurants. Actually, everything about this place reminded me of Europe. So if you want to take loved oneson a special date, or impress someone this would be place for you. Their appetizers and food are beyond words. Fish was properlycooked and spiced, scallops are super delicious too. And they also have vegetarian dish that looked super good!
