Close friends whispered to us Juniper is open and it is by far the best restaurant in Johnson City. Don\'t tell anybody it is... already crazy to get a reservation. With babbling brook outside and cozy rooms inside this Cottage restaurant blows everywhereelse away. Just three weeks after opening the fine food was near perfect.\n\nWe started with the finest French Onion Soup youhave ever tasted. Featuring five types of onions, sherry, and cave aged gruyere. The first course rocketed to the top of ourlist. Our next course Fried Green Tomato and Burrata was delayed arriving after the entree. Maybe it was the timing but thiswas the weak course and while it would be exceptional any place else we will probably skip it in favor of other delicacies inthe future.\n\nThe entrees melted in our mouths. I had the Cured Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin and my wife enjoyed the BrasstownBeef Bavette \"Steak Frites.\" My wife shared bite and we couldn\'t decide what was finer. I voted for the Tenderloin. Weenjoyed a bottle of Les Cote Syrah which was fine with an amazing bouquet.\n\nAfter a near perfect meal we were pleasantly fullbut they had saved the best for last. Celia\'s Fig Tart was the most heavenly thing to pass through our lips.\n\nMattie andCelia McGhee along with their team have achieved perfection. We will be back and hope that Adam will serve us to perfectionagain.\n\nPlease don\'t tell anyone about Juniper or we will never get a reservation again for the finest food we can remember. This was easily one of my top dining experiences in my life. After moving to East Tennessee from Orange County, California, I am... pleasantly surprised by Juniper\'s dining quality and service. This is probably the best fine dining establishment in thearea.\n\nWe had a table of four and sampled each other\'s food, ranging from small plate appetizers, to full entrees, and acouple desserts. I was able to try about fifteen different menu items, and every single one was a hit. In particular, the duckbreast with confit leg and bacon wrapped pork tenderloin (pictured) were absolutely incredible dishes, both in presentation andflavor. The sorghum pear chocolate bar and fig tart desserts (pictured) were decadent, creative, and just a pleasant way to capoff our meal.\n\nWe ordered three of the five cocktails off the menu, all of which were well balanced and delicious. My onlyfeedback is there were only five cocktails total on the menu, I would have loved maybe a couple additional choices to sample. Assomeone who enjoys spirit-forward drinks, I likely would have ordered another cocktail had there been another option I wasinterested in. However, I have to say the one cocktail I did have was excellent (pictured.)\n\nWe had a table of four and wereserved by Josh, who did an amazing job taking care of us! We felt welcomed, comfortable, and never wanted for anything: Josh hadthe perfect level of personality and interaction with us, always made sure we had drinks and offered to bring us anything weneeded, while maintaining that great balance of not being intrusive. I cannot express how happy we were with the service, it wasperfect in every way.\n\nI cannot wait to visit Juniper again when their seasonal menu changes. Juniper is an absolutemust-visit in Tri-Cities. Read more

Best water in JC, best food in JC, best drinks in JC. They have free 7-filtered water and sparkling water that tastes like Angel... tears and holy water. The steak is all farm raised and high grade cuts, however, we decided to try the Black Hawk farms Wagyu, and it was very good. The chefs even treated us to a delicious beef tartare, unlike anything else you will try in Johnson City, maybe even all of East Tennessee. Finally, Cory and Mack are currently running the bar and are doing a phenomenal job bustingthose delicious drinks out while still managing to keep conversation with me and my girlfriend. All of them are veryknowledgable in pairings, and the all the drinks we got really helped highlight the food! All that said make sure you go out andtry Juniper, and don\'t be afraid to ask your server questions, they know way more about the food and drinks then you wouldexpect from any other Tri-Cities restaurant and that is awesome! (We were too busy eating some of the food we mentioned that weforgot to get the photos!) Read more

Restaurant Environment: Inside of restaurant is very nice. Feels very upscale, which is very different from any other restaurant... in JC. Love the structure/look and the creek outside is so great too.\n\nParking: Not a lot available, so had to park next tothe creek. Not a big issue, but if there’s absolutely no parking available, I’m not sure where else you could park.\n\nFood:I ordered a few appetizers- Focaccia, fried tomato and burrata, chicken pot pie croquettes, and the chicken skins. The focacciawas incredible, very soft - definitely recommend ordering it. The chicken pot pie croquettes are the one thing you must orderhere, very, very tasty! Chicken skins were crispy and good. Fried tomato, was okay, didn’t have much flavor - would skip nexttime. For entrees, I ordered duck and steak frites. Duck was good, nice presentation. Steak frites - very tasty! Fries were toosalty but waiter replaced them kindly. The salad it came with had the most incredible lettuce I’ve ever had. Very buttery andsoft. Also, very nice and convenient that there is a kids menu available.\n\nDrinks: Ordered the lavender fields forever - gooddrink, but I don’t think it was for me. Very nice presentation.\n\nDessert - Ordered a kids ice cream sundae which washumongous! Also ordered the Sorghum Pear Chocolate Bar. It was very tasty (like a typical chocolate cake bar) and the popcornpieces on top added a very nice and unique crunch/texture.\n\nService: My waiter was very helpful in answering questions and theservice was wonderful.\n\nIn conclusion- I would highly recommend dining at Juniper. It was truly a wonderful experience and theservice is great. The food was also really tasty. All of this is very rare to experience in JC. I hope that as the restaurantcontinues to become more popular/grow, that the quality of food and service remains like this. Will definitely be visitingagain. Read more

Juniper is a fantastic addition to JC dining. It’s the perfect amount of fancy without being off-putting or ridiculously... pricey. The restaurant is gorgeous inside and outside, and our server was incredibly helpful with recommending items on the menuand explaining each dish. You must try the focaccia – It’s amazing. Read more

I’d like to start my review by saying the food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing and easily deserving of a five star... review. The wait staff as well were excellent, efficient, and friendly. Over three courses and drinks we were repeatedlydelighted by the food. However, the overall experience was not pleasurable. We were seated in the middle of the upstairs wherethe noise levels were simply unbearable. Using our phone’s sound level measure to judge this, the average noise level sat at85dB with regular spikes above 100dB. My partner and I could not carry a conversation, and we struggled communicating with ourwaitress. While the restaurant has the look and taste of fine dining, the current atmosphere audibly resembles that of a nightclub. Additionally, the two-person tables are spaced too closely together such that often you are bumped by the person behindyou. If you have any noise sensitivity whatsoever, the upstairs is to be avoided; at least for the present. Read more

This place is amazing. It will be a staple of the Johnson city area, the cocktails were delicious, unique , and memorable. The... steaks were better than anywhere east of Asheville. The bartenders were super friendly and the space is fresh, clean and easy toaccess. They did have tons of reservations that made getting a table difficult and we even showed up at the exact time theyopened. We ended up sitting at the bar and the bartenders took excellent care of us!
