We tried a bit of everything. Here's the short version: Brisket is amazing, I'll definitely order that next time. If you like... brisket you will love it. Burnt around the edges, it's no wonder they were out of burnt ends on the menu. Pulled pork wasexcellent. If you're a pulled pork person, you'll appreciate the high quality. Sausage dog ???? was good. Fresh bun, goodmeat. The baked beans ???? were not my style, I sent them back and traded for collard greens. Those also did not suit mypalate. Both have "smoky" flavor, and I assume that is an added liquid. Either way I'll avoid those next time. If you like thatsmoky flavor these are the sides for you. They have three sauces: spicy, sweet, and vinegar based. I liked each one, I'm sureyou'll find one you like. However, the meat was so tasty I didn't use much sauce. The coleslaw is more vinegar based and all Ican say is "refreshing" in flavor. A must for me next time. The cornbread is so good. It's got pieces of ???? in it and sweetbut not too sweet. I recommend sharing a portion with someone (not that's it is huge, but you'll want room for all the othergood stuff). We described the waffle-cut fries ???? as "better than Chick-fil-A." Not sure what you think about that place, butthey are good there and better here. ???? Finally, the banana ???? pudding was good with chunks of banana in it. I usually getpudding at BBQ places. Overall, this is good food. You can see the stacks of wood ???? in the lot that they are using toprepare all this good stuff. You should try it. Read more

Project BBQ have some of the best ribs I have ever tried. Fall off the bone is an understatement. The brisket was on point as... well. As far as sides, the mac and cheese was really good. If you are visiting Johnson City or the surrounding areas, doyourself a favor and stop here. Read more

As a homesick Texan, it?s a given that barbecue is a must when I?m dining out pretty often. The meats at Project BBQ are on... point. My wife and me really enjoyed fajitas the other night too. I have to say I?m pretty impressed with the brisket as well, which is hard to come by. My only real gripe would be that there?s not really much in the way of sauces. A bold, rich, spicymesquite style sauce would be a top notch finish for the chicken or pork. Fortunately, if we?re ordering out, my wife and mekeep a variety of sauces at home so I guess we got that covered. Read more

Everything we've had has been amazing so far. Fajitas were also delicious. Seems better organized now that they've been open a... little while. Prices are on par with other barbecue places, and the food is just as good, if not better. Read more

Really good bbq! We were able to get our food very quickly, but there was a line out the door by the time we left at 5:45. The... bbq and sauce were delicious, as well as the vinegar based Cole slaw. I wasn?t a big fan of the baked beans, but my familymembers liked it! Also tried some fries and they were very tasty! Read more

Made the trip out from Nashville & Project BBQ did not disappoint! The place was packed with a line the entire time. Very... interactive staff & great service. We tried basically everything on the menu & nothing to critique. The brisket melts in yourmouth, juiciest turkey I've ever had, & the Project Burger might one day win a Nobel Prize! Two thumbs way up for Alex & gang!!Totally worth the drive. Look forward to another amazing experience at Project BBQ!! Read more

Drove all the way from Nashville to try this bbq and it didn?t disappoint. The food was absolutely incredible! The brisket was... next level good- probably my favorite. The smoke sausage with jalapeño and cheddar was super tasty, pulled pork had so muchflavor and wasn?t dry. Don?t sleep on the turkey, it was so juicy- really did a good job on this one! If you don?t mind gettingyour hands dirty, the ribs are a must have! Was also able to try all the sides and it was soooo good especially the Mac andcheese!!! If you have room make sure to get the banana pudding!!! Hands downs the best bbq! Project BBQ is doing it right! Willbe making another drive soon for the bbq! Read more

Was recommended this by a group of locals. Did not disappoint. Odd location but they are making it their own. They should get a... loan from the bank of the parking lot they reside in a build a restaurant. Would be the best place in town (it already is) Thetacos are excellent and the cornbread casserole is superb. It's not dry like cornbread tends to be. They have 2 BBQ sauces andboth are good. I would recommend another down the road, but quality over quantity. Highly recommend if you live, work, or aretraveling though the Johnson City area. Read more
