I had a pretty good experience here! I found it from Googling local bars since I was passing through for work and didn't know... the area. I got the wings, onion pedals, and mozzarella sticks. Everything tasted SO good, the ONLY complaint I had is that thewings were overcooked so the meat was a little hard, but other than that no complaints. The bartenders (Chris and Jessica) wereso welcoming! I'd definitely return if I pass through Johnstown again. than tha Read more

One of the best hole-in-a-wall bars I have ever visited. We are treated as a family there, by regulars and by the amazing staff... (Chris!). Food is delicious, fish was so fresh and cooked perfectly. Loved the coleslaw too. Thank you for making my husband andI feel like at home. Read more

Came for lunch and it was decently busy for one server and the bar tender. Food and drink prices are ok for the quality. The... place was clean and that?s where the goodness ends. Sadly, I can?t say the Hawaiian BLT was anything special- three pieces ofbacon with a huge leaf of lettuce, a slice of canned pineapple (I thought it would be grilled not straight from the can), and aslab of tomato on bread. I asked for Pepper Jack instead of Swiss but still got Swiss. The picture attached is what the HotTurkey Sandwich looks like? I don?t know WHO thinks ANYONE would want THAT much gravy for their meal. We asked for gravy to beon the side so that soggy mess could be avoided but obviously that request was also ignored. Whether these errors were on theserver for not clearly communicating to the chef, or simply the chef not caring, it speaks quite loudly for this establishment. We expected better from a restaurant/pub that?s owned and operated by the same people that own Lorenzo?s in Amsterdam. Nice bar owned by the Lanzi family. They also own and operate The Sport Island Pub, Lakeside Tavern and Lanzis on the Lake. ... This is a casual homey bar that seems to have a good local following. The staff were extremely courteous. They have a niceselection of draft beer including their own GSL ipa The menu is typical bar fare with some nice additions. They also hadchicken and biscuits along with meatloaf as specials. The food was very good. We will be back. Read more

Last month my boyfriend and I ate here for a quick dinner since we were in town for some business. The reviews were promising,... but none of them warned us about three key issues he and I had major problems with. I'll start with noting that the anestheticsof this place aren't particularly appealing. It has the appearance and atmosphere of an old diner/dinner-hall with dated chairs. When we arrived it was after 6pm on a Monday and the place was pretty much empty with the exception of two people occupying themain dining area and one or two patrons at the bar. We were seated almost immediately. He and I ordered burgers and fries. Thefood was excellent, no complaints there, and our waitress for the most part was fine...until she asked my boyfriend if he wanteda refill on his soda and he agreed. And then we got the bill soon after. This was where the issues cropped up. He and I wereshocked and irritated to see the surplus of charges on there. This place charged us not only for our meal, but they tacked onan extra charge for using a card to pay AND a bar charge as well - and neither of us even used the bar! The icing on the cakewas the charge for his refill. Now I already think its ridiculous for places to charge for soda refills, but what I despise mostof all is when business don't even warn you or tell you about it until you are looking at the charge on your bill. The cost wasridiculous as well. Our waitress completely neglected to inform us the refills weren't free when she offered it and I hate whenwaiters do that. We made sure to deduct the cost of that refill from her tip. That, on top of the two extra ridiculous chargesimmediately made our decision to not come back next time we eat in johnstown. I've never seen any restaurant do that before fortheir billing, and I've eaten at a good amount in different places. They don't even have the decency to warn you aboutthem. Save yourself the extra expense. Don't eat here. Its not worth it. Read more
