I probably would have given this restaurant a 3 out of 5 star rating, based on their average pub fare menu, decent service and... fair pricing.. But aside from the fact that we were constantly swarmed with house flies & yellow jackets while trying to enjoyour meal on their patio (which I can?t entirely blame on the establishment as those sorts of pests are hard to deter), thedespicable act which we clearly viewed in their open style kitchen, happened upon our departure while paying our bill. Wewitnessed their preparation chef cutting grilled peppers on a cutting board, where he mistakenly knocked a few slices on the thefloor, only to bend down and recover them from the floor and proceed to throw them into the roasting pan with the rest asopposed to the garbage, where they should?ve gone! Completely disgusting and inexcusable, and we will never eat there againbecause of that.. So be aware and know what you?re in for if choosing to dine at the Bridgeview in Johnstown Ontario!! Stopped in for lunch on a nice sunny Sunday. Chose to sit on the patio and was seated by who I assume was the hostess. We sat... there for over 20min. waiting for the waitress. Another waitress was serving her tables during this 20min. We finally decided toleave. Very disappointed, was looking for a nice lunch by the water.....nope!!!! Stopped in for my first time and so happy I did. Staff are super friendly and food is fresh from scratch, delicious and fair... pricing. Desserts are amazing too. Baked on site. Highly recommend the coconut cream pie. I will return! Read more

Well should have known how it was going to end when the pepsi from the fountain machine tasted like water, gave us bottles... instead which wasn't real cold , took our order and waited over 30 mins. almost a full hr. Food finally arrived was fish andchips, the fish which looked huge was 90 % batter and overcooked to point of being fried into batter which was overcooked andgreasy . Well my coleslaw was not bad but spouses had a plastic bread bag clip in it , we didn't even get bread or a bun ,waitress was running around in circles trying to serve , take orders inside and out on patio, apologized over and over , saidshe was sorry there was no help really done the best she could , said dishwasher quit so don't no if it was a machine or aperson gave us 50 % off and free desert but the fish was really over cooked . I would have given it 5 stars..mostly because of the neat view and hardly any bugs on the patio. Our chicken was luke warm.... Think they precook then heat it up. The fries were awesome..like chip stand style and the salad was okay. Friendly staff andthey made us another whole chicken, but we finished our salad and fries by the time we got the chicken back. The caesar tastedgreat. Lol. Just..not sure what's going on in the kitchen is all. Was a bit disappointed. I was so hungry and looking forward tothis after our walk along Prescott. Where do I start? Patio is overlooking the St. Lawrence River and Ogdensburg N.Y. You get to see the large ships going under the... bridge. The staff is all super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was exactly the right portions, tasty and thereis a good selection. We plan on eating in the diner (super clean with classic diner look) in inclement weather. Even the chefwas interactive and friendly. Read more
