My husband and I hosted a celebratory dinner at Al's for 50. Kim, was very helpful and efficient. We were able to offer 4... entrees for our guests, which is exceptional in itself, and all the food was phenomenal. Every aspect of the meal, fromappetizers to the serving of ice cream and cake was perfect. The wait staff was completely attentive to not only us, but to ourguests. George, the owner checked in periodically to assess that service was exemplary, and it was. Drink orders were servedvery quickly and correctly. I would caution everyone to bypass any reviews that are less than 5 stars. Our experience mirroredthat of acquaintances, whether they were diners or guests at a dinner/banquet. Al's is a Joliet staple! The food is AMAZING! AND service is always second to none. Every time I've eaten here everything has... been spectacular. I like my steaks medium well but not burnt. They have an option where they can wrap your steak in tealeaves!!! HIGHLY recommended if you don't want an extra charred steak! Read more
Been to Als a few times now, the ambiance is that of an old school steakhouse. We?ve always had good service, friendly and... prompt. Soup and salad with entrees is nice and the warm rolls are quite good. As far as the food, its average. Greek potatoesare good as well as the twice baked potatoes. Both steaks I?ve had are bland and overpriced. Chicken Marsala was dry and thesauce thick. I will say that the Athenian chicken was very good. We will come back to try some more but in my opinion, Iwouldn?t go for the steak. Read more
Ive been going to Al?s for 3 years now. Ive never been disappointed. Tonight the lovely bartender suggested the Halibut (I... usually get steak) and this was the absolute best decision ive made!! The capers, white wine, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinachblended sooo well together. Im in love all over again. Great service- amazing atmosphere- at a reasonable price. A nice sit down steakhouse with many options. The food was fresh. Soup and salad was included. They brought rolls and butter... which was nice. I ordered a fish entree which was nicely cooked, but they could of added more seasoning, it was bland for theprice. Overall a nice experience. The server was very nice. Read more
The food was great. My rack of lamb and double baked potato was amazing. Our waitress kept disappearing and forgetting items... which made our service a little subpar. But overall would definitely suggest and we will return. Read more
Steak was awesome, handmade salad dressing was great, French onion soup awesome. Veggies for the day, no good, bland, no... flavor and it seemed like they came from a frozen bag and steamed.
