We had a one night stay in Joplin and found Wilder?s on Yelp. At first we wondered if it was even open but then saw others go... in. There is plenty of parking in the rear. From the moment we entered it was the type of experience one wants to remember overand over. We did not have a reservation but were quickly seated. I am usually opposed to booths but this was not the type whereyou sink so the table is up to your chin and the person opposite seems a mile away! The seats sat high and the table wasnarrower so you could easily chat! Our server was Chloe. We started with cocktails and shared a shrimp cocktail (4 huge shrimp).For dinner I had the DuPont - an 8oz filet topped with onions, mushrooms and Gruyère cheese and Caesar salad as my side. Myhusband had the ribeye with the garlic mashed. We also ordered a bottle of Bordeaux - the wine list has a variety of wines/prices. Everything was served perfectly with wonderful attention to detail, both steaks were medium rare as ordered. We sat andfinished our wine before ordering coffee and dessert- we were never rushed. For dessert we shared the bourbon pecan pie a lamode - delicious! Excellent service. Had the bone in rib eye. Visually beautiful. Good char. Just a tad bit under seasoned as were the mashed... potatoes. Maybe adding a little bit more salt to the herb butter would have got me there. Read more
The service was exemplary. The food was excellent. I had a grilled romaine salad (never had something like that before) that had... flavors that I now count among my favorites. I had a gorgeously cooked ribeye with truffle butter (never had truffle butterbefore, it's good!) and a very nice fully loaded baked potato. I finished off with a black coffee and a slice of chocolatemousse cake that finished of the evening perfectly. I know I'll be back, and I'm looking forward to it. Read more
The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. My husband and I both ordered the 8oz filets and they were cooked to absolute... perfection. We both agreed that they were probably the best steaks we've ever had. Our server Crystal was awesome! She was veryfriendly and attentive. If you have the chance to eat there I would definitely recommend. Read more
Just went to Wilders for a perfect evening celebrating my dear friend?s 40th birthday! He had lived in Joplin MO for 17 years... and never been to Wilders! He very much enjoyed a great meal: his perfectly cooked ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions, hisdelicious scallops, a Wilders? Gouda twice baked potato and a side salad. Our appetizer of crab dip was just wonderful. Theirside of cream corn that came with my chicken is ?to die for?! We were very impressed with the service we received and witheverything we ordered, and he agrees with me now that Wilders serves the best food in Joplin, as I have told him for years!!! Read more
The staff was wonderful. We called ahead a s should get a table by 8pm. We got there a little early and we're seated right away.... It was a tad bit dark and hard to see the menu. The staff was fantastic, the presentation was lovely. They asked how the steakwas (which is was great) - they didn't ask how everything else was. I hated the cauliflower au gratin. I had 2 bites. Howevereverything else was fantastic. Would have enjoyed a different size dish though. The drinks were good too. It was a nice cleandinning experience. With food that taste buds enjoyed. Read more
We Drove from Fort Smith Arkansas. It was EVERYTHING we anticipated a delicious steakhouse should be! The ambience was smooth,... drinks were stiff. For starters it was the bacon pork belly w horseradish ah!, so good! We ordered the 24 oz BIG bone in ribeyewith loaded baked potato Potato was awesome huge! The lobster is a MUST! Excellent. Traveling on highway. Googled restaurants near me. The best. Fresh warm bread. Everything about it was perfect. Great unique... atmosphere. Rib-eye and pork chops amazing. And the BREAD PUDDING TO DIE FOR. Read more
