Stayed up on the North Shore and had to visit Giovanni?s. Stopped by on 9/5 (holiday) poor decision on my part. The wait was... roughly an hour from when I got in line to when I got my food. On other days I drove by and there was no line at the truck (I?llremember that for next time). Ordered both the spicy and garlic shrimp plates. Both were good?I liked the spicy shrimp more. The garlic shrimp was good too; however, a bit too intense with the garlic for my liking (and I?m an Italian). The staff wasfriendly and there are ample tables in the area to sit and enjoy your food. I was so hungry for a good shrimp plate. Got the hot and spicy and these definitely have some heat so be prepared! I am used to... spicy Mexican food, since I am from Cali, but if you are not used to it, stick to their other options. This plate made me happyfor sure. Read more
The garlic shrimp scampi is so good!! Arrived around 2pm and there was no wait. The shrimp tasted fresh and the garlic scampi... sauce on rice was delicious! The portion is great for sharing between two people who plan to do some food truck hopping - comeswith two scoops of rice and 12 pieces of shrimp. Delicious garlic covered shrimp scampi, though for $16 dollars I wish the portion was a little bigger or included a vegetable... side. Was definitely still hungry after eating 1 for lunch. The experience was amazing such a cool spot to explore. The shrimp was nothing special. Below average even. It wasn?t bad. The... shrimp is 31/35 shrimp, pretty small so 1 plate of 12 ain?t filling any of up. The rice was impressively horrible. If it wassome special hybrid of porridge rice then it was perfect, however I?m pretty sure the menu said plain rice. Read more
Shrimp trucks are a must when on the north shore of Oahu and this one seems to be the most popular. Plus our friend, Peter, had... good things to say about this one so it was our truck of choice. We got the Scampi with Macaroni Salad. If you check in on Yelpyou get a free drink too. Everything was delicious. There was no line and we got our food quickly. There are a bunch of picnictables to eat at which is really nice. It's cash only. If you're going to the north shore, stop here on your way! Read more
Worth the drive. This is the original, and I think this location is less crowded than their Haleiwa one. Garlic scampi is... their most popular for good reason. Finally tried their hot and spicy plate. Was always afraid to try it since they say norefunds if it's to spicy for you. Glad I tried it, has a nice heat and unique flavor. The shrimp is very garlicky so beware if you don't like garlic. I personally enjoyed it very much. You get 12 shrimps with 2... scoops of rice for $16. It is cash only! There are other food truck vendors on the same lot with different areas of seating. Much improved from my last experience. Read more
