Maui Tacos always just misses. What's up with the fake or is it watered down guacamole? Which corporate bean counter came up... with this bad idea to save money? Next thing you know it'll be liquid cheese on the nachos. No respect for authenticity! Read more

Girl at the counter was not friendly. She seemed like she had an attitude when asked any questions about the menu. The guy... cooking the food who brought it out was nice. The condiments ?salsa bar? looked dirty so we didn?t get anything from there. As awhole the place seemed kinda run down. The food was ok. Probably could?ve gotten better at a food truck. Read more

Delicious Mexican food. Portions are very large and the food taste delicious. The chicken was well cooked. I took the chicken... adobo platter and shared an appetizer but the platter would have been enough. My partner took enchiladas Sonora and it wasamazing as well. Highly recommended! Read more

When we go here we?ll usually get the same order (enchiladas, nachos, etc.). Up until our last visit, the food was good and... order always correct. Customer service/cashiers in the past were adequate during the transaction. The place is fairly new andclean and provides and promotes hand sanitation to customers which is good since it?s self-serve salsa. On our most recentvisit, we ordered the same items with shredded chicken. We were expecting the usual shredded chicken, but noticed on the iPadwhile paying, it showed ?adobo chicken.? I told the cashier that wasn?t what we ordered or wanted and it was then when sheinformed that they were out of shredded chicken and that it was adobo chicken, but not to worry because it tasted good. I toldher that I did know how it tastes and it does taste good, but it wasn?t what we wanted or ordered. Paid for and took the orderas is despite our disappointment. The outside of our order looked and tasted great as usual. The adobo chicken was cut in chunksand although was flavorful, was not the shredded chicken we were wanting or ordered. That should?ve been clarified by person whotook the order at the time the order was being taken. I?m hoping this was a one time inconsistency in our experience because wedo like the food and quite frankly there really are so few places to take out from as it is already in the Kahului or Wailukuarea, that we would want to continue going there. We really enjoyed our evening at Maui Tacos. I like their new location across from Target in the new shopping center. There are... some tables outside if you want to eat out, or enjoy the air-conditioned inside. We both had some of the appetizers which weredelicious, and then a fish taco and a shrimp taco finished off the meal. Everything was so fresh and tasty, and you know theyreally put their hearts into their product. It?s nice to see that Maui Tacos has done well over the past 30 years and opened upother restaurants across the world. Maui is where it all began. Read more

This is a fine example of a good restaurant concept being poorly implemented. This would make great fast food, but it isn't... fast. If you cut the portions in half, it would make for great takeout, but instead it is too large, too messy and too expensivefor that to be a good option. If you had a nice dining room, this would be an amazing sit down restaurant, but there are maybeeight small tables plus three outdoor tables... And the wind outside made sitting there nearly unbearable. What we are left withis a place that can't handle a dozen people without a long wait, and no where to sit when they finally bring your food out. Thefood itself runs 15 to 25 dollars for a couple of tacos. Furthering the same of this visit was an inconsistency in the qualityof the food. My chimi was beef and black bean. Portions of the beef had formed itself into inch wide flavorless meatballs duringcooking, while the rest was well seasoned and finely minced. Everything else about the chimi was awesome. Sorry but I'm going tosay skip this one. There is a zippy little place down the street that offers a faster more family friendly and much more localtaste experience for the same price. Read more
