We stopped in Kalkaska on our way home and stopped at the Up North Grill for a late lunch. There were only a few customers at... the bar, we sat at a table nearby. Our waitress was awesome and was very attentive to our needs. We ordered a couple appetizers. The "Mile High" nachos were any but that. They were maybe 2 chips high. For cheese they used the liquid type. Not our favorite. Our other tizer was the wonton. They were good. Will we return? Not until we try all the our restaurants in the area. Read more

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of seats available and service was prompt and friendly. I enjoyed a burger and... my son had the lasagna. Both were great. Building is dated and actually looked closed when we pulled in, but shouldn't be adeterrent to stopping here for a bite to eat. I would eat here again. Read more

After we were sitting there for 10 minutes, the waitress brought the next table waters and took their drink order. They had... arrived a few minutes AFTER us. We were already thinking about leaving, then she took our drink order. Well, part of it, anyway. She took 2 of the 3 people's drink order, then walked off. We left. Turns out to be a good thing. We discovered Trout TownTavern and Eatery. Better service. Better menu. The food was good, too. Skip Up North. Go to Trout Town. Read more

We had a nice waiter S***. After bringing our food he didn't check on us once. It wasn't busy either. But the 2 other tables he... had that had 4 each he checked on them multiple times. The food was a little on the expensive side for a gyro and club. It wasokay but nothing great. This is the 2nd time here and I am sorry to say its not one of our favorite. Read more

Food was good. I had a fork replaced because it had food on it and it was dirty. Cups smelled like dish rags and I didn't like... the water taste. The "soda" they had was backwoods Michigan owned and it's REALLY subpar. It's the only brand they carry and ididn't like it. Food was good, I ordered a BBQ bacon burger and fries. Loved the fries. Homemade buttered bun on the burger.Very yummy. My ma ordered a Ruben something and our friend got a blackened burger. The food was well served and plenty hot.(Photos show the food we ordered) the two entrees I had I didn't take a picture of because I was busy eating it. They were anorder of fried mushrooms(very hot and mushroomy) and the cheese wontons(wish they had just a little more cheese) The price for2 entrees and 3 orders and 2 sodas put the price at 69.71 cents or so. Don't know if it's good price wise. Given it's out ofseason prices during covid. Service at the bar was snippy but our waitress was very warm and homley. I do not remember her namesadly. Read more

Very good place to stop! For me it was a random lunch choice, but a good one at that. I got the lunch special, turkey bacon wrap... with some fries. It was delicious. Read more

The place has a nice atmosphere and cool fish tank. Ordered garlic parmesan wings, but they tasted pretty much plain. The... Chicken Alfredo was fairly good, but not too much chicken. The ribeye tasted good. There was mustard on the table that wasexpired by several months which was a bit concerning. Not too many vegetarian options. Read more
