This was a pretty disappointing first experience at this restaurant. The staff was attentive enough but the food was bland and... really tasteless. Had the fish and shrimp, seafood chowder, lime and cilantro coleslaw and mash potatoes. The coleslaw was greyand was only palatable with a heavy dose of salt and pepper. For a seafood place, I hoped the seafood chowder would be mindblowing, but no. Had to dose it with salt and pepper as well. The mash potato gravy tasted weird. How does a place mess upgravy? They found a way. The fish batter was just boring. The food is really uninspiring. With all the choices of places to eatyou'd think places would be upping the anti by making delicious, flavourful and inspiring food. Not here. We spoke to the serverabout it when she asked and with our complaint she only offered to bring us some extra fries. 'You don't like your meal? Oh, asan apology have some more." If your palat leans towards bland and uninteresting this is the place for you but of you wantdelicious for your buck stay far away from Joey's Only Seafood. Read more

This was one if the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. The food was very bland, even the deep fried fish. We had... to add salt and pepper to everything. The chowder was so over priced for the quality, the coleslaw looked like it was a weekold, and my fish hardly had any fish in it. The meal still cost us $75 for two people which was so much more than it was worth.I only finished half my food and told the server but no offer was made to reduce our bill, just to bring me more boring Frenchfries. My advice: find somewhere else to eat. Read more

Service was good and the food was decent. Not the best fish and chips I have had, but decent.

Some of the wines listed on the menu were not available. The coffee was very weak and tasteless- when we told the waitress this... there was no other options or offers from her. We came specifically for the lobster Mac and cheese and were told this was alsonot available, 2 of the 4 desserts on the menu were not available - not a great day to decide to go there I guess. Over priced, food was good, but not great. As others warn - i should have listened - portion sizes are quite small. I ordered... a lot thinking I would have leftovers as a snack and still try a bit of everything. Turns out my 70 dollar order could beeasily eaten in one sitting, and I am not a huge eater by any means. At least if it's going to be expensive, make the foodgreat. 70 bucks is fine dining prices, not small-time diner prices. Lobster bisque was good at first but after about half, thesalt got to me and it wasn't as enjoyable. Would recommend the smaller cup instead of the bowl unless you plan to share it. The "king cut" of halibut was definitely smaller than expected, think a burger patty. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, but the fish on the inside was a bit overcooked and on the dry side. The garlic shrimp were small but tasted great. Seasonalveggies tasted good too, but quite oily. The 3apps for 16 dollars were less food than 16 dollars is worth, and the quality didnot make up for the value. I would say they were similar quality to some frozen boxed products from a store...at least theycame out hot and fresh, and the included sauces helped. Lastly, why don't you accept amex? Franchise policy or something? C'mon,It is 2022. Service was friendly and genuine, and if not for that, i would have left much more disappointed, with an even lowerreview. Unfortunately, it wasnt enough for me to give Joeys Seafood a good recommendation with a clear conscience. Read more

Not only is it overpriced but the food is garbage! I'm sorry I can't think of a better word for it besides garbage. Firstly... they were out of halibut and cod. Then the haddock was soggy, the fries overcooked and flavorless. Coleslaw was dry and alsoflavorless. If I was going to describe the Pollock it would be comparable to a fish flavored cookie. The fountain pop wascompletely flat, but they did have cans of pop at least. That can of coke was the best part of the meal in my opinion. One ofthe people with me said the steamed vegetables were also good. Don't know how you guys stay open. Read more

Quality lacking and way overpriced. First time I ordered fish & chips which were average. The 2nd time, I was looking forward to... the Shrimp & Lobster Sourdough Grill sandwich which looked good in the photo, but should be renamed a Grilled Cheese and Onionsandwich as chopped onions overwhelmed any other flavours. There were small bits of what I presume were shrimp, but certainlycould not taste any lobster. And it was borderline burnt on both sides (see photo; should've taken pics of the filling as well).Choked half of it down and gave the other half to my wife without giving her my opinion, but she said the same thing. Where'sthe lobster?! Nothing but onions and certainly not worth $16!!! Response to owner's comment: Reviews aren't necessarily writtenthe same day that you've eaten there. As mentioned, I've eaten at your place more than once, and my review reflects an overallimpression. I've been meaning to write the review for a while and was reminded when I came across the photo of saiddisappointing & ridiculously overpriced sandwich. Read more
