I love having a breakfast with my family and it?s our ritual to go out atleast once a month to morning breakfast places. We... visited this location after moving to Ottawa. Super clean place, friendly staff, the food prepared by the chef/cooks is mindblowing, fresh, hot and tasty ???? At first I wondered why it takes a bit too long compared to other Cora place but the wait wasworth it. There was one chef and another helping hand and the place was almost full. But the kind of service they offered wastoo good to be complimented?? We did mention this to the staff and thanked them for their hospitality. This is my to go placemoving forward. I came into this location and was instantly greeted. It wasn't too busy so it only took a few minutes for me to be seated. I... wanted to get from the Sweet and Salty menu but was told they couldn't do the 2 eggs as an omelette. I opted to go for theWestern omelette instead and added 1 pancake. The menu didn't say I could order a pancake as an extra, but the waitess told me Icould. The service was quite fast and the omelette was good. The onions were a little big but nothing inedible. The potatoeswere ok, it was crispy on the outside but somewhat softer on the inside. They had a garlic taste to them which for me didn't sitwell. We love Cora's, but this location is the worst we've ever visited. Our family walked in around 12:30 on July 2nd and it was... hotter inside the restaurant than it was outside. The temperature outside was 26 degrees. The hostess was sweating, it was sohot in the restaurant. When we asked if the air conditioning was broken she told us it was working but that it was a poorsystem. We debated leaving because of the heat but decided to tough it out. Once we ordered our food it took over an hour toreceive. There were about 6 or 7 other families there, some who arrived well after us got their food before us. The 2 stars arefor the food, because fortunately it was delicious as usual. We will never visit this location again. Read more
Very Disappointing. Waited 45 mins for our order. The server did not come to our table even once for a coffee refill. Waffle was... completely mushed up. Whipped cream running all around. Looks like it had been sitting for a while before it was brought to thetable. You can find better gluten free bread in grocery stores than what they serve. I am never going back there. Read more
Ordered pancakes and a Joe construction breakfast with the four year old. Restaurant had no crayons when we got there, asked for... some and they brought him 1 purple crayon. Waited 40 minutes for our food to come out, had to ask for water and a coffee refillafter we were seemingly evaded for a while. When our food came out the waiter realized that they had missed the chocolate chipsin his pancakes and tried to take his plate away, which anyone who has dealt with a young kid knows is not going to go well.. Itold him to forget it. Expected maybe they would bring more out later to correct their mistake.. I was wrong. After a while withour meals he asked how our meals were, I told him not great and that the eggs were terrible cooked and not easy over like I hadordered, more like hard over and grizzled. He argued with me that I was wrong and offered to replace them. After trying to keepthe four year old quiet for an hour I declined, ate around the eggs and we left. If you've ever been to a Coras's restaurant you know what to expect of the menu. The staff who greeted us at the door asked to... see proof of covid vax and ID, which we expected. This location was not busy at the time. Online, take out or mobile orders mayhave been busy? The server delivered 2 of the 4 meals without supplying utensils, we flagged down another server to requestutensils. There was a significant time delay waiting for the other two meals to arrive. The other two meals eventually arrivedand the plate was warm and obviously had been sitting in a warmer. These later delivered meals had a nasty vinegar-ish taste onboth plates that either came from a cleaning solution on the plate or the melon, not sure. But given the already delayed mealdelivery there wasnt time to have them re-make it. The bulk of the meal could be consumed by avoiding the melon pieces that hadtouched the plate. The brioche touched the plate but did not have the same nasty flavour. Perhaps it was the from the orangemelon and not the plate? Either way I expect it was a one off event. No one got sick. Maybe 3 stars is too much but we werehappy to feel kinda normal and eat at a restaurant with people we love. Read more
