We were looking for a steak restaurant and this restaurant came up. They had a menu that had variety because we have kids and... the reviews were good. So drove over and were greeted by the friendly hostesses and we had a seat right away before the dinnertime rush. Jessie was our server and she was great. We ordered the twisted ribs and steak nachos for appetizers. The ribs weretender and crispy at the same the time! The steak on the nachos was tender and had good flavor. We ordered the prime rib,tomahawk steak, chophouse prime dip, bacon cheeseburger, Mac and cheese and fries. Everything was delicious and hot! The pricesand portions are very good. The restrooms were clean and very nice. We walked around afterwards because it's in a great areato walk after dinner. We will definitely go back. Read more
We really enjoyed our date night dinner here! Our server was great. She was so nice, attentive, and personable. I am currently 7... months pregnant and have gestational diabetes but still had plenty of options on the menu to choose from. Our food came outquick and everything was delicious. High School graduation celebration for 5 people. Our local relatives had been there before and thought we would enjoy it (we... are out of state). Had reservations for 5 pm. Great service by all of the wait staff - very friendly, made goodrecommendations on the sauce, extremely attentive. Large dining room filled up fast after we had ordered. My rib eye steak,medium rare, was perfect! Others enjoyed the prime rib. Nice bar service, and again, good recommendations on the wine. I'm conflicted. I'm not sure if my hopes were just too high or if it just really wasn't all that great. I'll start off with the... pros. 1. Our server was super sweet. She was very attentive and quick! 2. The coconut shrimp was super delicious and probably myfavorite thing that we ordered. 3. Seating was super spread out and it wasn't loud. We could actually hold a conversation, whichwas nice. 4. The prices were great, but this is where it gets muddy. For the price it was up to par, but something seemed off.It presents itself as a high end steakhouse. It was far from that, but for the price, it was what you might expect. Cons: 1.Overall, it just missed the mark. We thought maybe it was a little more fine dining than what it actually was. Like they weretrying but at the end of the day, it wasn't there. The plates and knives were close the plastic. The steak knife shredded oursteaks instead of cutting them, the tables were similar to a plastic coated. It just rode the line of cheap. 2. The drinks werenot that great. Our of three mixed drinks, we wouldn't order any of them again. 3. The atmosphere seemed off. Everything waswhite and black, including the lights having over your table. Bright white Edison bulbs everywhere just set the tone for a weirdatmosphere, especially at 10pm. Also, we sat next to the server window, which is where everyone seemed to gather and talk as youcan see in the pics. 4. The food was mediocre. Our steaks were cooked to temperature, but had very little seasoning. I shouldhave known when I kept seeing people request A1 sauce. And their "signature sauce" that you can see plated in the photo was verysimilar to A1 and ketchup mixed together. The Mac n cheese tasted like plain noodles. Not one ounce of seasoning. We opted toskip dessert for these reason. Overall, I think maybe our hopes were set too high. I want there to be nice places to eat closeto home but, I just don't feel this is quite it. The Chophouse 101 is the crown jewel in a very happening Kannapolis. The decor gives you modern fine dining with beautiful views... of the sunset, but the atmosphere is casual, uproarious & bustling. The service was A+, friendly and accommodating! I ordered araspberry lemon drop tini that I saw online but wasn’t on the menu. I got my wish in no time! That drink was delicious & Ihighly recommend getting more one like I did. Overall the food was satisfying, beautifully presented and met expectations. Thebone in pork chop was cooked perfectly and the juiciest chop I’ve ever had. The baby back ribs were finger licking good Besure to save room for dessert. The carrot cake is yummy moist goodness. The chocolate cake was decadent and a perfect slice.I’m going back for the key lime pie & the cheesecake! Read more
The name Chophouse 101 is not the correct name for this restaurant as most Chophouses are known for their steaks and quality... food with high expectations and more of an intimate atmosphere. To start with the atmosphere appears confused. The originalbrick wall was my favorite but the generic print pictures of steaks do not help the appeal and make it look tacky. There amillion rustic style bright white LED lights hanging from the ceiling making this place way too bright, especially paired withthe white walls. Overall the atmosphere was not welcoming and needs some help. Onto the food… restaurant claimed they haveaward winning ribs so I had to try. They were overcooked, looked to have been burned on grill, dry, and no flavor. The centercut fillet was like a hockey puck. I had moderate expectations for this restaurant and even those minimal standards were notmet. I would go to Texas Roadhouse over this restaurant every-time. The manager took off a discount of $2 off a $26 meal. Hesaid he was not able to offer a larger discount without the owner being on site. He reached out to the owner of the restaurantand was able to provide better customer service. I was trying support local such our town is small and does not have a lot oflocally owned restaurants. I hoped to have had a delicious meal but it’s unfortunate that was far from the case. I will notreturn. Perhaps the show Restaurant Impossible maybe to help. Read more
