A beautiful restaurant. Presentation is lovely, staff outstanding. I just wish it had more plant-based foods on the menu. My... only option for lunch was a very basic salad. Read more

This was a very, very nice hotel. Clean, spacious and very well decorated.. having said that there were a few less than ideal... things :The layout was rather confusing at first, so if you are attending a conference here like I was, the layout can take somegetting used to. Also, the credit card machines at the bar went out as well as the hotel wifi (affected the entire Kansas Cityarea) so not much to be done there , I'm just stating facts. Lastly, there was no gift shop or anything to buy Ibrpofin orTylenol. So I had to walk a ways to get to a store for those items. Four stars out of five Read more

Lamb kofta with couscous was prepared nicely and was tasty. Tomato soup was very good. Casual atmosphere with a mix of... burgers, sandwiches and a handful of entries. Read more

Our food and drink was extremely overpriced. My food was room temperature, not hot. My Reuben sandwich was lukewarm and... hard. The fries were lukewarm and very hard, like they had been in a warmer. I will not eat there again during our stay. Read more

Disappointing service, disappointing food, hefty price tag! I ate at American Slang twice, once for breakfast, and once for... dinner. The drinks I had at dinner were expensive and poor/mediocre, their smokey martini tasted mostly of vodka. It wassupposed to have Artbeg scotch in it, but it only had a splash of it on top which was gone with the first sip. The rest of themartini was vodka and a couple stray ice cubes that passed through the strainer. We ordered another drink with rosemary and itwas OK. The chicken we ordered was so overcooked and dry that it was actually difficult to eat, and the steamed green beans wereprobably the best part of the meal. The grilled salmon was overcharred and overcooked to the point of being slightly rubbery andbitter. The baked mushroom and Yukon mash was OK. The green beans and fingerling potatoes were fine but nothing special. We hadbreakfast and got a KC omelette and a KC breakfast. Here the food was mediocre/good, but slightly overpriced as expected of ahotel breakfast. The service, however, was bad. Despite not having a lot of customers, we had to struggle to get the attentionof the wait staff. Common requests such as creamer/milk for coffee was initiated by us and no forethought was given by the waitstaff. None of that is absolutely deal breaking, but it is not worth the price with so many better options nearby. There arebetter restaurants across the street, with a 5 min walking time, that have wonderful drinks for dinner and are even cheaper thanAmerican Slang. If you need to grab a bite and are staying at the hotel, try to take a walk around before eating at AmericanSlang. Read more

Came here for breakfast. Standard brunch items all played quite nicely. Not out of this world (prices are pretty hefty) and... service while friendly was a bit slow when we first arrived. Read more
