You absolutely need to get the beef bacon skewers. The skewers are one of the best pieces of meat you can ever have. ... Everything was top notch and this was definitely my favorite spot that I stopped at in KC. It is priced right for the level andquality of food and service you get. Looking forward to coming back. My Husband and I have always had dinner here so today was our first Brunch! As per usual we chose to sit at the Chefs counter... for a more unique dining experience. We took my father in law for his birthday and it did not disappoint. I struggled to choosewhat I wanted to eat because everything just sounded so delicious! We went for the Mushroom Frittata, Biscuits and Gravy, Pigshead donuts, Crab cake Benedict, Devilled eggs, Bacon, Steak and Eggs. We also decided to just share everything. Honestly Iwould struggle to pick a favorite but some standouts we're the biscuits and Gravy made with duck and finished with a duck egg.The bacon melted in your mouth, the poached egg on the crab cake was perfect and the devilled eggs were so good! (I don't evenlike devilled eggs but couldn't stop eating them!!) I paired my brunch with a carrot Mimosa... Because that's exactly whenmimosa's are for! I was skeptical of the carrot but as with everything it was delicious! Thank you for another wonderful meal, everyone is always so friendly, it really does elevate the experience. Read more

Honestly a devine experience every time. Tonight was our 5th visit in 8 months and has become a firm favourite for date nights.... I'd highly recommend sitting at the chef's counter for a unique dining experience. The food has been delicious every time. There hasn't been a single dish we haven't enjoyed. Between my husband and I we usually choose 6 plates to share. Extra thankyou to Christian for keeping us entertained while cooking and to our server Lorielle making sure we have everything we couldpossible need. Read more

I cannot say enough nice things about the dinner we had at the Town Co. Our server Seth was 5 star all on his own. We were a... group of 9 which can be challenging, and we put him in charge of our ordering and he executed it flawlessly! We had heardamazing things about the rolls and carrot dip (thanks @buktui) and they did not disappoint. I could have eaten a whole panmyself! Other highlights included the scallop crudo, the beef tartar which was perfectly balanced, the octopus dish had the mostlovely turnips, and the pork chop with its silky garlicky bed it was resting on. We tried it all and there wasn't anything Iwouldn't eat again happily. Definitely a must stop spot. Read more

Jillian and I have followed this power couple since the beginning of the pandemic, when they moved from Portland, Oregon, to... Kansas City so they could work at the new restaurant inside Hotel Kansas City, The Town Company. Helen Jo is the executivepastry chef and Johnny is the executive chef. Both of the chefs are humble from the very beginning. Just telling them you lovetheir food makes them blush. That is hard to find in a good chef. We visited The Town & Company the first week it was open andfell in love with some of the small details we knew the couple would perfect over time. We recently had the pleasure of being apart of a women's chef even at Waldo Thai where Helen Jo perfected a dessert you can now find on the menu now. To start ourevening we had drinks with the barkeep in wood filled dark green ceiling bar area just to the right of the main kitchen. After afew unbelievable drinks the chef was ready for us at our chefs table seating. What an experience from the start. We were able tospeak with all of the amazing staff behind the scenes as they prepared everyone's food. It was like watching a ballet. They wereall in tune with one another, so much so you would have thought there were attached to one another. Dancing around the tinykitchen preparing works of art. Every dish was paired perfectly with the first. Our pork chop and corn bread melted in ourmouths. To close our amazing evening off chef Johnny learned we had experienced his lovely wife's madien voyage dessert heinsisted we have all of the deserts on the menu. I hope these two never change a single thing about themselves and their lovefor great food. The Town & Company will forever be among our top establishments. We feel at home like many of our favoriteplaces and can't wait to dine again with the team. Read more

The atmosphere is incredible. The service is impeccable. The food is remarkable. The only reason this did not get a five star... review is that nowhere on the website did we notice before arriving that this is a small plate restaurant. And when they saysmall plate, they really mean small plate. They tell you things are shareable. They are not shareable. Maybe small childrencould share. Adults cannot share. Also, and this might be a personal thing, I don't like when the first thing a server tells meis that Chef takes all orders at once and Chef decides when food comes out. I'm not in First Grade. As a result, because we tooktheir advice and ordered several of the smaller appetizer like small plates, when the main dishes came out, we ended up havingto get boxes to take food home. Had I been able to order my smaller small plates first and consume them, then I might have knownhow hungry I would be for my main dish small plate. And I might not have ordered something as big as the pork chop. That's why Ilike to be able to order what I want to eat when I'm ready to eat it and not have to order everything all at once for Chef todetermine what I get when. Again, just a personal thing. A second thing that did not sit well with me would be the dinnerrolls. They are also delicious, and prepared in an individual little skillet. The skillet apparently holds 3 rolls. It is notoften that only three people dine. Most people in the restaurant the night we went were tables of 4. That means that you have tobuy several of the dinner rolls, and at $12 a skillet, it drives up your ticket price as far as cocktails. I'm sure there werelittle iron skillets out there that could have made four rolls. Neither of my issues take away from the phenomenal quality andtaste of every single dish we had. I highly recommend the chicken livers. You don't see chicken livers on many menus. I wasexcited to find a restaurant that serves them, and they were cooked to perfection. I think this is Read more

Such an amazing restaurant. Decor is very cozy and feels old timey yet modern. The food is perfection. Everything that came out... of the kitchen was incredible. The Clara bowl rolls appetizer. Such a crisp crust yet tender insides with a sweet yet savorycarrot dip. The cultured butter added a nice tang to balance out the fat. Corn bread is by far the best cornbread I've everhad. It is deep golden brown, crispy, sweet, salty, so many flavors going on at the same time. Chocolate zucchini cake wasmoist, not too sweet, flavors very balanced. Drinks are on another level here. I highly recommend to order at least one drinkhere. Read more

We were absolutely amused and educated during our culinary experience! From the moment the rolls were brought out with the... smoked carrot dip to our chocolate zucchini cake it was a nonstop sensory journey! I had a wonderful rye drink called Campfiresong, complete with an airy marshmallow as garnish. We were presented with an heirloom tomato dish that had a crunchy coatingthat was delightful, smoked egg, lamb sausage skewer that included meat from the shoulder, leg and tongue. Fermented chickenlivers an ode to locals favorite " Go Chicken Go"., next we had ginger carrots, a halibut dish, a porkchop that was perfectlyseasoned and smoked, and my favorite, strip loin with lobster sauce! The desserts rounded out the experience, light andrefreshing. The shared plate concept is definitely a fan fave as we all had a little of everything! Our servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! This restaurant is a must for both locals and those visiting the city. Read more
