Walked in & took at least 15 minutes to get our drink order. We asked if they were really behind and if they were going to take... long before ordering anything and she told us no. Then we ordered the food and never brought the drinks. Instead anotherwaitress comes after an hour and tell us they were supposedly closing because they were having trouble with the system, yet theystill served a table after us and to go orders and never even got the drinks. We had cash to pay if the system was givingtrouble too, but they didn?t bother to even ask or anything . We lost at least an hour sitting down without drinks and thinkingthey were preparing our food. I am so disappointed. Initially I thought it was some kind of nice establishment that catered towards or at least was family... oriented but I sat there they started playing this distasteful vulgar music Bad Bunny.. I had my wife and my five-year-old withme. So, can you imagine the embarrassment due to the distasteful and Vulgar lyrics ? The place looked more like a cheap cantinawhere drunks go. Both of the waitress did not have a smile on them until we paid and I?m guessing because they thought they weregoing to get some kind of tip. We spent over $50 I had some steak and I had to continuously repeat that I wanted it well done.The service did not help and the servers look like they didn?t wanna work there. My wife asked for coffee and stressed out thatshe wanted a fresh pot brewed of coffee and the server assured that it was fresh but it was old and nasty. Now how can you getcoffee wrong? The food was without any affection whatsoever which is not typical of Colombian people who pride them selves andeverything they do. Well at least the ones I know. ?.not like New York. Delicious Colombian food every time. They have a few other restaurants around the Houston area and it?s always the same great... food and customer care. Been coming here for years now and will continue to support this business as they always make me feel athome! Read more
This is the worst Colombian food I have ever had. The bandeja paisa had no beans, we were given a burger instead of salchipapas,... and the croquetas are actually just frozen chicken nuggets. We called to try and remedy the situation, and we were hung up on.Hard pass for me. Read more
Authentic Colombian Food in Katy! I am Colombian and a recent transplant from Chicago. The food at La Olla is phenomenal! ... When trying a new Colombian spot, I alway judge them by their Bandeja Paisa and their empanadas, both here were perfect and onpoint. For the uninitiated, a Bandeja Paisa is a hearty platter of steak, fried pork belly, sausage, fried yellow plantain,rice, beans, and topped off with a fried egg. It also comes with an arepa which is a small fried corn pancake. This is a hugeplate, enough to serve as your only meal of the day?because it will be impossible to be hungry afterward. We are from Ecuador and we have been coming to La Olla in Katy to eat on and off for the last 8 years. Today I treated my family... to La Olla in Katy on Fry Rd. We ordered the famous fried fish and the paisa and some appetizers. When they brought out theempanadas de carne I bit into it and it was stale and NOT fresh at all. When our plates arrived to the table the size of thefish was half the size they used to be. The Paisa tasted reheated and the rice was not fresh at all. I mentioned all thesecomplaints to the waitress but all she said was the contrary and that the food was made to order, which was NOT true. Terribleexperience and won't be coming back anytime soon.
