First visit and I was blown away!!! From the pre-dinner drinks (highly recommend the homemade Sangria) and the hospitality shown... by the bartender Brittany — to the awesome staff and delicious meal it was an incredible experience! Shout-out to Nick forserving us! We had the Chorizo Nachos and fried cheese for an appetizer!! SO good!!! My main entrée was the Gnocchi withChicken and it was amazing!! Chef Manny is A++ and his food presentation was perfection. We finished with one last drink at thebar and it was the perfect end to a fun evening!! We will be back very soon. We went on Friday night and had made a reservation for 6:30. We were seated immediately and the staff was very friendly. The... space is clean and inviting. We ordered the nachos which were delicious. Highly recommend! We also ordered the Maple ???? andold fashioned for drinks which were ok. We each ordered the tenderloin steak with the mashed potatoes and veggies served on thesalt block with shrimp. The shrimp and asparagus were delicious, the steak and mashed potatoes where just ok. Overall, very nicerestaurant, friendly staff, we will be back to try more of their menu but will pass on the steak in the future. Read more
Dined at Salt for an anniversary dinner. I was surprised when we arrived that there were few others dining that night. The bar... area is nice and would be a good place for a drink with friends. We were given a booth away from those that were there for aquieter meal. We did have a couple of drinks, then ordered a delicious grilled peach salad to share. My wife had the swordfishspecial which was very good. I had the bone in ribeye on a salt block with Gorgonzola risotto. The steak was a perfect mediumrare and the risotto paired well with the meat. The food was well cooked and tasty. I would recommend Salt to anyone in the FoxValley or visiting. The price point is appropriate for the area, not trying to be a Milwaukee or Chicago priced establishment.I’d encourage local diners to visit Salt to keep a quality restaurant open and thriving. Salt is basically an elevated supper club. Obviously the menu isn't set up that way but that's what it feels like when you dine... there. It's welcoming, the staffs great and besides the food it's encouraged to have a few drinks. I stopped in and tried acouple things. Both were delicious, but nothing I'd write home about. I enjoy the small twists they add to make the place uniquebut nothing was super foreign to me. I'm sure I'll be back, I live right next door. @dietproof Read more
Honest Review: my steak was served on Himalayan salt rocks. That experience in itself was a lot of fun. I was far more impressed... with the smoothest risotto I have ever tasted. However, the peas overpowered the flavor of the risotto. It would have been amore pleasant experience without the peas because peas have a distinguished taste. I don't appreciate the value for what youget. $70 for one person is a little excessive without any appetizers or an alcoholic beverage or dessert. I would at leastexpect a basket of bread to come at the beginning of the meal at a place like this. The Ambiance was a little dark for my tastebut I loved the chandeliers. The bathroom was clean and my server was very friendly. The restaurant was a bit cold though and Iwas freezing while eating. Overall my experience was great and I will come back, however prices need to be adjusted for thequality. I feel my steak was subpar. Read more
This place was fantastic. I am only giving it 4 stars because it was really loud in the dining area and also they were really... busy so the wait for my the appetizer was long. The food gets a 5 star rating! The drinks were refreshing especially theraspberry mojito. Our waitress was awesome I believe her name was Dana. Would definitely recommend for a date night. Great experience! Wait staff was exceptional! I had the NY Strip Steak and my wife had the Halibut with lemon risotto. Both... were fantastic! After dinner we enjoyed pumpkin pie and Banana Bread Pudding. Both were excellent. Read more
